Some basic Rakeback advice pleez. Question for 100nl players

Hi chaps,

Currently playing on stars, i think the FPP stuff is all crap, i'll just want the rakeback if you please once i get to 25nl. Should i move to Full T. when i go to 25nl? or at least get out of stars?

Some thoughts on this please. I know rakeback is covered on FTR elsewhere but i want a personal discussion about MY poker career advancement. I'm also nervous about playing on a different site incase it throws me a bit. Thoughts on this would also be cool.

Finally.. a quick question so i can look ahead. What is your average rakeback per, say, 10k hands @ 100nl? If some players could look at their stats and give me a very rough idea of how much RB they're getting at 100nl per x amount of hands that would be cool.

Stars has softer games, better interface, no bet-pot button, and by far and away better support.

FullTilt offers 27% rb and still doesn't get half the action Stars does, why would you want to move from a site full of fish to a site full of rb pro's?

And yeah I agree with Bbickes that this doesn't bring up anything new. You can find the majority of your answers from other threads, and decide for yourself what is best for you.

See this is news to me. Stacks, that link was basically saying that you'd get about 6-800 bucks (ish) after playing 125k hands and having paid about $5k in rake. Grim.

This is why i want a discussion because i've read about rb but need some thoughts on the idea of moving to other sites.

Another point regarding rb is that my win rate is very meh and i can only imagine it continuing to be so. I anticipate to beat 10nl for around 5-6 PTBB which means by the time i get to 100 i'll be beating it for about 1-2, which means getting some of that rake paid back to me could make a hell of a difference. But if spenda is right, and on the GS vids i see they're almost always in stars, then the win rate would drop (if one moved to FT) significantly enough to negate the whole rake thing.

I'm just doing some long term planning or assessing and want to see how a realistic full time salary can be made, volume of play, type of site bla bla, so this is more than just a rb question.

I note you are based in the UK. As you have not been affected by the moral clampdown of the USA there are a world of sites outside stars/tilt you can enjoy.

I played on FT for a bit tempted in by the DEALT rakeback. However I found the games bad, the same players on lots of tables just pushing thru the hands.

Search for spoon´s thread to end all threads about rakeback. Im not in the mood to search it for you. Also, you probably wont like the conclusion of that thread and how it applies to you. Basically, stay in Pokerstars, beat the game, and the VIP program is at least as good as a Rakeback deal, or even better.

Although it is nice to look ahead and research, be careful about making such conclusions. You're just at $10NL and there's no guarantee you'll be successful @ $25NL, let alone $100NL and be able to predict a win rate.

Micro guys have such a skewed view of what a reasonable winrate is because villains basically transfer you money at the micros on a regular basis. It's relatively easy to achieve a 6-8ptbb/100 winrate at the micros, I'm fairly sure higher is easily attainable by higher up decent regs. Once you start getting to the low stakes, 3ptbb/100 is basically reasonable. So 1-2ptbb/100 at decent volume is gong to show some decent profit at 100nl/200nl. Obv you want better, and rakeback helps, but still.

So wonderland, where do you see anything as grim? SN isn't hard to make once you get to 100NL, so assuming you get to SN and put in some volume, you can expect to be getting around 48% rakeback, which is more than FTP offers. SN + SN bonuses is better than Rakeback, and this isn't taking into consideration milestone bonuses, SN freerolls, etc.

Stacks, maybe you get awesome RB as nova at full ring, it kind of sucks at 6m (about 25% for me since I put in lots of money in the pot) and BLOWS at HU. I don't know what wonderland plays...

euro rooms are probably the best for fishyness and RB
but clearing the $600 deposit bonus at tilt is around 60% rakeback (50% rb from bonus + rakeback - MGR from bonus) so you can just clear that and move to stars
and while you're clearing that you'll get ironman end-year bonus and some FTP points that are worth less than stars points but are not worthless by any means

Why would you play against pros for 27% RB on FT, when you have a world of ultra-fishy sites, kickbacks, juicy VIP schemes and 40%+ RB waiting for you??

I need to look into the pokerstars thing more... i mean, their FPP scheme... you actually DO get money paid back? not just an equivalent in disney dollars to buy a TV?

it's just that i won't be able to play full volume poker until 100nl unless i get a part time job or something. At the moment, on top of managing a social life, i only get through like 12k hands a month.
