2/4 - lost with AKo

Villain is running 21/14/2 over a lot of hands. I don't have any notes on him, so I guess we haven't really tangled. He raises cbets 7% and on the river AF is 1.6 and AFreq is 27%.

i dont get what hes value betting on the river besides a straight. hes not raising a KQ for value, if he had a combo draw with a T he would bet the turn unless hes just totally incompetent, as well as sets. i probably play flop and turn the same way.

I agree with this. Also, if he did have QJ/AQ type hands, he's more likely to check those back now even.

I have mixed feelings about calling a raise on this flop OOP, and tbh I'd prolly avoid it unless I had some reads. Can't say if its good or bad, but it puts u on so many tough spots. Turn is std...

I probly get ridiculed for saying this, but I say donk out on this turn. He basically never raises the flop w/ a ten unless he now has a boat which he would just flat to a donk anyways. If he raises I'd feel comfortable stacking off. He is also going to check this turn back with just about his entire range, meaning every one of his draws gets a free card, which is the reason you are calling the flop.... cuz he can have like a ton of draws, since you are doing very very poorly vs his value range. Yeah so I like b/c turn or bet turn then based on timing and river card decide what to do if he calls.

I don't really like this line, we are getting owned by all his value range and when we aren't we are just flipping.


I think folding the flop is fine OOP.

I'm just thinking about the donking the turn line, I didn't like it at first, but now I'm thinking that donking like 32 or something might give you some information. Given his lowish AF, and there is only one street left, I think this would freeze up his draws a lot of the time, and also He probably wouldn't be able to resist raising such a small bet if he did have you beat?

Donking the turn is a good line as a bluff, not when we have AK.

I play the same and fold the river.

I'm just learning - tough spot - I'm playing this the same, folding river. At my stakes (50nl), this river bet is never made on anything like TPTK or worse.

How could it possibly be a good line as a bluff? If we are calling his flop raise it's because we are expecting his range to be weighted heavily towards draws. If we check this turn, all of those draws get to check behind and take a free one.

If we donk the turn, for one, our line looks like non-sense and he will try to semi bluff us often, plus the fact that the ten is like a great card for us because it makes it less likely he had a set or two pair on the flop....
