2NL: Overpair vs possible flush

Villian was 36/8 over 25 hands. I had no particular reads. Just wondering how you guys would play the hand and if it's a call or fold. Thanks.

b/f turn sounds about right. He's loose enough that he has alot of draws in his range, however Qx is likely as well - this is why I continue betting. We will still get him calling with Qx or maybe even middle pair depsite the flush card coming. I bet like 2/3 on the turn and roughly 1/2 pot on river I guess. I think you should be folding if raised on the river as well.

B/f is a great line because it will allow your villain to put money into the pot with a weaker hand, and will allow you to get away from your hand when it's likely you're beat (get raised). If you just shut down and check, he can bluff you out too easily and it makes it difficult to put him on a range of hands.

EDIT: I just realized you were in position. OOP I bet/fold but in position I'm not exactly sure whether we should check behind to induce a river bluff or not. I suppose betting the turn would be okay and if c/r'd give it up.

I don't see why we'd ever not want to go for 3 streets if value here. Only flushes really beat us and he'll likely make it very obvious he has one in this spot. We really don't need to pot control or induce bluffs on this turn because his range is pretty much polarized to a few hands that beat us (flushes/sets), but mostly Qs and weakers hands with some showdown value that he'll likely continue to pay us off with.

I think checking this turn not only gives a free card that could kill our action or our hand, but misses out on value vs a range we are still way ahead and will pay us off quite often.

The beauty of b/f at these stakes is that noone ever really c/r's the turn as a bluff because they see our line as strong. Therefore, it should in theory be very easy to cut our losses and fold if we are raised at any point here.

Yeah, I think hero bets 1/2 pot on turn with intent to check behind on the river is the best line here.

Bet turn, just because he's loose doesn't mean he's got it. By not betting, you're not getting any information and letting him draw. If he calls and still bets on river, then reevaluate.

Just wanted to mention too since I didn't see anyone else say it, your PF raise is too small. 4XBB + limpers. You already have 3 limpers before you, your raise should be more like .14. If you do not understand why this, please speak up and we will tell you. (i am not trying to sound almighty, just trying to be helpful)

Thanks for the replies. It's good to get feedback. Villian took the same line I always take when I hit the flush on the turn. I only play A and K high flush draws so if I hit a flush on the turn, I check to induce a bet. It may not be the best play. I felt that villian was doing this also. Then, his river bet seemed too strong to be a bluff, so i let him have it.

But I guess a Turn bet would be a better play, then I could either fold to a raise or call/check behind on the river. I agree that I should have raised more preflop with pocket K's.

- Raise to .14 PF.
- Don't throw away the initiative on the turn just because you're assuming the worst. B/f it. And also, remember a four flushed board is WAY scarier than only three of the same suit.
