Do you c bet here? 55 in MP

Was it the right move to c-bet or should I have checked with the 2 overcards on the board? No reads yet as I'm new to the table.

I like the C-Bet but we have nothing on your opponents? Any stats would be nice.

in general i'm neither wholly for it nor wholly against it and it's really situation dependent (like i would do it at a tight table to try and loosen them up and make them think you bet anything)
here though i say no because you have no reads and more importantly it's only five handed. a lot of people call your raise here with something like jack ten and will be far more likely to call with middle pair. (this is bad for the obvious reason that it means that you're spewing money into the pot but also because your implied odds aren't as great if he calls as they would be in a 9-handed situation because if you hit your five he's folding his middle pair to ANY kind of turn action)

Not a big fan of the c-bet, the 2 face cards will hit a big part of villain's range (broadways calling a raise) IMHO

Also, if you c-bet this board, would recommend a bigger bet ($1.35 to $1.50 2/3-3/4 pot) to drive out the questionable hands.

Thanks for responding. You really c-bet that high of a percentage? I usually go a little over half the pot (as I did here).

I don't agree with the larger cbet size here since villain is so short here. If you're raising the limper here with 55, you should follow through or you don't really have much business getting in the hand in the first place. I generally don't like playing small pocket pairs against shorties since you don't get paid off enough to make it profitable. I'd call in position here since I don't mind letting the BB in and getting a chance at his stack.

First I think if you are going to isolate, make your preflop raise larger. Generally make it a buck twenty-five here. You gave the rest of the table odds to call with all kinds of garbage.

Second, don't isolate the short stack with a hand like 55 unless you are looking to get it in with him.

and C: nothing wrong with C-betting the K high flop after you raised in position preflop and UTG checks to you. I don't even think I mind the bet size given how little money UTG has behind. Normally c-bet a bit bigger though.
