I feel like I played this bad

villain is 14/10 with an 8% 3-bet over 130ish hands. FWIW I will be happy to let you all know villain did NOT have a flush.

I checked flop because I wanted him to take a stab at the turn with something worse than an ace. I figured I fold out alot of his range on this flop.

Should I be 4-betting pre here and get all in vs shove?

Oh yeah I had a wild image somehow. I was on a huge card rush and was raising/isolating everyone to shit but none of my hands were holding so I was folding alot to resistance postflop.

This looks like AA that flopped a boat. Possible he could also have JJ QQ AKs AKo AQs.

That's why I don't like the flop check.. whenever I check in positions like this, I get sucked out on, so I stopped slow playing in any situation, regardless of stats, at the micros. If you bet it, he will call, then on the turn you can more confidently fold this.

due to the preflop action im not so worried of making him fold here, so i bet out for value.

Also, are we betting for protection? not sure about that second point

This guy isn't your tpyical microstakes player. He's actually decent.

To be honest I don't get wtf I'm doing postflop here at all. I suppose I'm betting to protect my hand and get value from MAYBE AQ..but I dunno that's why I posted.

With position I don't mind pre. On the flop we're not really worried about a flush draw (because of the 3bet), so giving a free card isn't a big deal.

Why raise the turn? What are you hoping to accomplish?

Well my thinking about raising the turn was I didn't want the 4-flush card to fall but I realize now it's not that big of a deal since I have position and could just fold if he leads it on the river. I guess I wanted to get value from my hand (but now that I slow down and think about it value is thin if there is any). So check flop and check turn to hopefully induce a bluff on the river? Since he's either really strong or really weak if he's checking 2 streets after 3-betting.

bet the flop you effectively have the nuts bar aa, he doesn't fold kk-1010 to 1 bet ever and this is such a typical flop for people to take stabs at when checked to you won't get much respect. As played I don't mind the turn raise, I don't know why people are getting on your nuts for it.

Yeah I definately should have bet because I wouldn't have got respect at all. I was playing twice as many hands as this guy over a sample of 40ish since I sat down and was pretty laggy thus far.

If I get re-raised should I just push over and be looking at a chop alot? For some reason I hated getting it in on this turn (not from hindsight just as I played it, my line looked weird).

Maybe. I probably flat the turn though.

But that has nothing to do with how bad we both play. I find spending my winnings on strippers and booze helps me come to grips with how bad I play.

I don't think you're behind here. These are small stakes, bet out when you have it. The only card you're afraid of here is a 3 and that's really not likely for him to have and if he does have a 3, the only other card he might have is an A, but with his such tight %, I don't see that being in his range.

You're probably looking at TT+ AQ+ and just doing some EQ

Just doing his tight range you have 78% EQ. So checking is just there to trap. Could he have hit a set? Very possible, it's really a WA/WB situation here.

what hands that we beat are continuing to put money in the pot after we raise the turn??

villain may not realise that we are unlikely to have a flush in our range, and most micros players hate flush cards falling as it is w/out someone raising after they do fall.

AQ is probably in his 3-bet range. I think we're chopping alot with AK though after seeing his re-raise on the turn, and of course behind AA or TT.

Now that I look at the raise again, it looks like I'm either protecting my hand from a semi-bluff (like if he has KxKs or KQ) or hoping to get AQ to come along, with AK of course chopping (However I wasn't thinking when I played the hand, I pretty much bet because I was stuck and didn't want to bitch out of another pot lol).

Because I checked the ace high flop in position, he may weigh my range more towards pairs KK and below since with the flush draw he'd probably expect me to bet my top pair. If this is how he's thinking, wouldn't it be fine to stack on the turn since it's likely he'll bring along hands as weak as AQ?

The only reasonable hands I could put in his range that are ahead would be AA, TT, and maybe KsQs - not sure if he's 3-betting this oop though.

Once again, this guy is 14/11 with 3-bet of 8%. He's not your typical microstakes player that everyone seems to refer to. He's definately smarter about the game than your 'typical microstakes player'.

I don't like checking back the flop because he has a hand he wants to show down
if he has a hand that completely missed he'd bet it
