This is a part of a hand I posted in the beginners circle:
No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (6 handed) - Hold'em Manager Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com
Hero (BB) ($116.75)
MP ($66.60)
CO ($50.90)
Button ($110.50)
SB ($96.74)
Preflop: Hero is BB with Khttp://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/...miles/club.gif, Ahttp://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/...iles/heart.gif
MP bets $1.75, CO calls $1.75, Button calls $1.75, SB calls $1.50, Hero raises $10, 1 fold, CO calls $8.75, 2 folds
Flop: ($26.25) 10http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/...iles/heart.gif, 2http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/...iles/heart.gif, 4http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/...miles/club.gif (2 players)
Villain is something like 20/5 from memory. With a $26 pot, we're looking at say $15 for a c-bet. On a board where I just cant see him folding any PP, and figuring his range is made up of a lot of 88+ type hands, I feel like c-betting here is just burning money. General consensus was that c-betting should be standard here. Thoughts?

I'd c/f.
You're probably gonna have to barrel a lot to get him to fold so c betting and giving up would be terrible imo.
-
quite a simple c/f methinks
PF seems slightly too big, I like $8
-
if you have a good image i dont mind barrelling. You have a back door flush draw and overs. C/f isn't bad either if the guys a huge station. like meeloche said its gonna take a couple of streets if you try to run a bluff.
-
cbets dont have to be a certain percentage of the pot. betting 7$ or betting all in are probably much better plays than betting 15 as you suggest
-
I c/f with shove being the next best option.
-
Yeah tossing around thoughts on Nut's ideas (I thought posting an actual c-bet amount might be a mistake). Even though $7 gives us a great price on our bluff, on this kind of board thats the kind of bet I might make with AA to induce some spaz, so I dont like it here. Shoving is probably better, but thats still $40 to win $25 and I'm not sure how much more of his range it folds.
-
I don't think betting 7 is going to get many worse hands to spaz. Maybe a flush draw, that has pretty decent equity anyhow. Besides, I'm pretty sure a huge huge part of his range are pocket pairs anyhow.
If we're betting $7 now, its to shove turn always.
I kind of like the shove idea, if he's capable of folding a pair.

thats it really. Just ask yourself if there's any way to make him fold 88. If so do it and if not c/f.
