Why does he bet small on the turn? Did the Q scared him or is he slow playing AK? How much to bet here?

Calling a raise OOP here with SC's means you need to make quite a bit on this hand. Calling the flop and second guessing the turn is probably not going to get you paid by hands you beat. Did you honestly just call preflop in hopes of flopping a nut str8?

Wow, never noticed the half stack either. Yea this is horrible, fold pre, you don't have enough to make money on this call. This is why I love short stacks, free money.

SC's have value in multi-way pots when a couple of players have already limped. There are other situations where it can be profitable to play them, but if you still limp/call trash UTG then you should probably work on the absolute basics of your game.
Since you are short stacked (which makes the limp/call even worse) you have to get it in by the river.
You could even just call here, you'll have less than a psb left on the river.
This might be one of the rare cases where a minraise isn't a bad idea. He can't fold if he has any piece of it, and he'll have a hard time folding the river when you shove getting 3:1

Don't play short stacked without a solid reason. (Not having the BR for 20NL is NOT a solid reason)

My plan was check raising and I was expecting him to bet bigger.. So lets say I put him on a J or an overpair and he didn't like the Q, how much do you bet to not blow him out of the pot?

yes its an unfortunate thing that happens frequently with bad players, but regardless you have to c/r. just make it $5 and hope he shoves. if not shove any turn.

You think raising SC's preflop short stacked at $20NL would be profitable? I mean I raise or 3bet this all day since I play full stacked and most guys have some assemblance of a steal percentage. But this is FR and it's only $20NL. I think it's interesting but your asking a lot of someone who is thinking calling is a good idea.

I would have actually raised this in late position, but i was trying to see a cheap flop and i figured if i raised someone would re-raise. Ok, you guys are right I should have just folded this in early position. I mainly play Sng's where I'm usually folding small sc's so i guess it was just tantalizing to see a flop for .20.
