On a Loose/Passive table...

Should I be opening up my range considerably? The questions comes from a table I was on earlier, and I read them as being really LP, and I opened my range up a ridiculous amount. This may be an extraordinary circumstance because they were folding to large cbets around 100% of the time. I made about 80% of a buy-in just raising and cbetting at about 35%.

I'd like to know if this is the appropriate strategy, or if I should should be a little less aggressive with some more marginal, implied odds based hands lake A2s and 65s. My play was a good reaction to table dynamics that seemed to work, and I want to be sure it wasn't a one time circumstance.

It sounds like you had a good pulse on this table, and played it correctly. What a cake walk.

Loose passive is a great spot to steal pots with modest hands on a meh board. Be careful of any flop that hits Aces on Kings. You also have to watch out for the player who appears loose, but tightens up on the late streets. They tend to take down big pots. These guys are rare at the lower limits, but they're around.

My advice would be careful how long you ride the wave. I was at a table a few days ago and basically doing the same thing. Problem I had was I rode it to long and then I got caught. All the great winnings went away real fast. Had I tightened up and not been so damn greaty I would have finished up a nice session.. ;-(

Well I was trying to play the opposite of how they played (in a sense). They never adjusted and it was very profitable, but I certainly know (to at least try to) readjust when they change.

Well, if they're playing fit or fold on the flop, just cbet 100%
if they're playing loose preflop, you shouldn't really raise that much preflop because you're going to get called
unless they're playing TERRIBLE post-flop
because by raising preflop with a hand that's not that great, like J7o you're not just going to bet 6 BB into a 9BB pot, you're going to bet the 4BB of the preflop raise + 6BB on the flop to win a 9BB pot
so you have to be sure they fold more than 50something% of the time and that you're not going to flop a jack and lose money vs. a better jack

so it's OK not to raise too loosely preflop in this situation
