VPIP/PFR/__? AF?
On my HUD i believe AF is the 3rd number. (default)
Generally it's a number between 0-5 but what does it mean when it's infinity?
Also can anyone give me any basic guideline on how to interpret AF? From what i know, an AF of < 2 means they probably have what they're representing
-
bets + raises / calls + folds if i recall correctly
-
i know the formula for calculating it, but i don't know how to interpret it effectively that i can use it as a read
-
the numerical representation is how much more likely they are to bet/raise than call/fold. i.e. a 2 means they are twice as likely to bet/raise
-
i dont think the bottom half is call/fold. i think its only "call." folds dont affect your AF and neither do "checks."
a "1" is a 1:1 ratio of betting/raising and calling....considered passive. aggro players are putting money/more money in the pot more often than that.
infinity means you havent seen the guy call a bet/raise yet. he has either raised or folded to the table's betting.
the higher the number, the higher the ratio of bets/raises to calls. and, you use this to give you a GENERAL sense of how likely he is to bet, raise, shove, bluff, etc. although, its not always a great indicator.
and, "stations" will not often be carrying a number over 2 at the lower stakes. however, some maniacs never fold. again, its not the greatest indicator. but, there's a crash course to the best of my ability.
i'm sure others will correct/add to what is necessary.

AF is purely based on '(bets+raises)/calls'. It doesn't tell you how likely they are to fold, only how likely they are to check/call or call, rather than bet/raise :)
I believe agression frequency allows you to use the agression factor more reliably, by telling you how often our villain uses agression as a percentage. Here I guess checks and folds are taken into account. I'm not sure about this though so I rarely use AFq since I don't know how the HUD calculates this.
