TPTK then board pair- Did I play this right?

I use to worry about whether I won or lost but now I worry more about whether I played the hand correctly. Is that a good thing? And for once I will not get replies with "you stack is too short" :lol:

This was about the 6th hand that villian had played so no read to speak of.

First, I believe I should have raised pf. After that I'm up for sugesstions

I'd rather raise than call from the SB when 4-handed. You aknowledge that already so meh.

Flop overbet is probably good at this level, people will draw no matter what.

Turn bet needs to be larger IMO. He's definitely staying in with his flush draw.

Check/call reasonable river bet. Flush got there, board is pretty wet, you don't want a large pot with TPGK here. If you DO happen to decide to bet, don't bet less than you did on the previous street, you're just ASKING to be raised...

Edit: Also, there is no "Right" or "Wrong" way to play a hand, just more EV+ or EV- ways, which are subject to interpretation. You played this hand OK, and shouldn't beat yourself up too much over it.

YES. this is the BEST thing.

try not to make a habit of completing hands from the SB, position is the most powerful thing in poker, and Kq isnt a good hand to play oop, but your 4 handed so i guess its ok to raise this from the sb to get a slaggy steal.
as played i pot the turn and,c/c any small sized bet, fold to a psb or bigger. the flush hit and its pretty obvious why hes calling u down, so dont showdown unless u have good odds.

I'm raising KQo to UTG limp from SB in a 4 handed game every time and twice as often on Sundays w/o reads. You're way ahead and should be isolating. I agree with Deez, he's not raising you with worse here, ever. You've shown strength on 3 streets and he raises you on the river. He's got a flush or like 78 a ton of the time here. Folding to the river raise and finding a better spot seems reasonable, since Qx is all you beat.

Bet more on the turn, check the river. Stop leaking so much information with your bet sizing.
