Saving a few extra dollars a month is always nice but is it worth having to drive something you dont enjoy driving? Which is what most people are doing these days. So many people are sacrificing things like safety and comfort to save a little more money at the gas pump.
I'll suck up the extra 30 bucks a week and drive something I want to drive!! People can ramble on about these fucking cars that run on hopes and dreams and are measured by "smiles per gallon", but i'll be holding on to my Ram getting 19 MPG and it boils down to the fact I love driving it, Im not scrunched up to the dash, and I feel safe when Im in it!

yeah i hear ya...i got a ford ranger 20mpg....(hows that work out? i got a 6cyl..)
but why dont they sell it here??
Hemi w/ MDS (runs on 4 cylinders when cruising between 1-3k RPM's) its rated at 18 by EPA but after I put a chip and intake in im averaging 19-21.Quote:

But hey, at least we all know what a hemi is now: it's a penis enlargement device.
Man, I totally sounded like a dick there. Lighten that post up by 50% and that's what I MEANT to say. :D
Touche
Haha my truck is highest rated for risk to other drivers.
Anyways...It boils down to a matter of opinion, I dont mind paying a little extra for comfort and convenience, and the utility of a pickup is also uncomparable.
But the next cocksucker at the gas station in a Prius that tells me about my carbon footprint is gonna get that crackerjack matchbox car ran the fuck over!
You'll be seeing more things like this in the future. The dollar has lost a lot of it's value compared to other currencies for the past decade and it's about to lose a lot more as the government tries to fight the housing bubble. As americans lose purchasing power companies will start seeing more profitability in selling to foreign markets. US is becoming the new Asia, where they produce stuff to feed other countries consumption.Quote:

yes, i hear ya.
as the US moved away from gazz guzzling Hummers and towards gas sippin' economy cars, gas prices ha ve been quietly tumbling.
Big Oil doesn't like that, and Big Oil's bed partners (Ford and all) have to take the lube and shove it, as per Big Oil wants.
the public will only suffer because of this fact.
my car is powered by hope. it gets 60miles/child's soul I put in it. With children's souls costing as low as a snickers bar these days, gotta say it is the wave of the future.
Damn you Fnord.
There's a fuel efficieny gov site I was looking at today. My 2000 gets better gas mileage than the 2008 version. Like that makes sense.
hahaha, I like your style.Quote:

Let's get this back on track
Look at Ford's numbers for the past few quarters. Introducing this car would be genius....if they could create a market for them. VW has been producing a similar vehicle with the 2.0T diesel and has yet to crack a significant portion of the market. Why? These engines are seen more for their costly repairs and fillups than the long life expectancy. Even with all the advances in ultra low-sulfur diesel they are perceived as a dirty, polluting engine. So, with the huge investment Ford has to make compared to the tiny market for these vehicles...risk seems to outweigh rewards. And with Ford being the biggest money loser lately, I'm sure the last thing they want to do is introduce a $350,000,000 guinea pig into the market.Quote:
