Why did you raise 2.5 and not 3x or 4x on the flop? Other than that looks like a great play.

Personally I would fold it preflop, even from the button. If they were suited I would like calling a bit more but probably still fold.

As played, I agree with revolving, I would make it 400 to go on the flop since opp is getting very good odds to call your bet. Otherwise, I like the turn and the river - too often I wimp out on the river and just check it down when a bet will often take it down.

I might have even followed up on the turn with the 400 bet. It looks like the SB had a flush draw. He wasnt interested in calling the river because there where no more cards to come. Which also means that 2 of your outs were dead. Just food for thought, maybe?

My intention by reraising on the flop was not neccessarily to take down the pot there (although I would like it to happen), but to get him to check the turn and not bet it so I can check behind and see the turn and river for a relatively cheap price.

I am not sure he was on a FD, he may be on a mid pair or even high pair with no kicker, SD, FD etc...

Once he checked both turn and river it is pretty clear he is not intersted in the pot, but if I check it down I am probably behind so I have to bet it

Im cool with the river bet, its the flop that got me. If your going to semi bluff. Why give villain 3.6-1 when hes already invested? If your not semi bluffing, why are you raising? He can't fold to your flop raise...I guess I just like to show more aggression here.

I don't like the call pre. I also don't like getting invested in a str8 draw when I could be out drawn by a flush draw. In turbos, I try to conserve chips and not play too many spec hands.

A semi-bluff is when you make a play for the pot but dont mind getting called because you still have outs. This was not a semi bluff as villain CAN NOT fold. This was a pot building bet.

I'm pretty surprised at some of the arguments here. TLR's play is pretty standard IMO.

He's raising that amount to let the opp know that he's serious as much as anything else. He's also saving chips if he gets run over on this or a later street.

Maybe if you think of it as a Free Card Play that is also a semi-bluff...It's like in limit when you raise the flop (or CR) with a draw solely to see the river for one BB.
