Min Raise?!?

So over the last couple thousand hands i've been coming in contact with a lot more minraises than say the last couple months, and it brought up the issue that i'm not really sure what they mean. I live in 5.50's SnG's on stars and i'm just not sure how to interpret these types of raises. I understand that it depends on the texture of the board and the player on how you react to raise, however ive been seeing them many different situations from many different player types. Should i sometimes call because of the odds these tiny raises are giving me, or should i interpret it as if the player had raised 4-5x my bet because lets face it alot of the players in 5.50 sng's don't know how to bet. Just kind of curious if theres a general concensus on what these types of bets mean at micro stakes.

i usually fold to min-raises no matter what,but i have seen some people do min raises just to steal the pot away from you.
there is 2 min raises,preflop and afterflop

afterflop is harder to determine whether you are beat or not,esp at the microstakes,where they play all those rags hands.
preflop for me are the easiest,it usually mean big monster hands,QQ,KK,AA.i seldom see people min raises with AK though.
but preflop holding a small pp/medium pp,i usually call those min raises playing for set value,less than 10% of my stack.
afterflop is difficult for me,it depends on reads,some donks will just min-raise their river when they hit two pair on a flush/straight draw board,so gotta be careful when they do that.

Min-raises preflop can mean very different things for different players. Some players will play their strongest hands like this e.g. AA, KK, QQ. For some players it means a mediocre hand who either want to see the flop or next card cheap.

You are best off avoiding calling min-raises preflop unless you have a decent hand. For example 77 and you calling for set value. If you have a strong hand (for example TT - AA) you want to reraise these guys and get an idea of what they are holding. An AI bet here usually means AA or KK or sometimes AK from opponents who are unsure of how to play AK after the flop.

ATF these bets are usually one of two things; your opponent is on a draw and wants to see the next card cheap, or has hit something on the flop but doesn't know how it holds up against your hand. It you have a legit hand you will probably want to reraise your opponent (after considering your position) making sure you are not giving them the drawing odds.

If you come into contact with a min raiser (esp from the bb). I am always looking for ways to exploit poorly played hands. Typically, Ill want a suited Broadway or a small pocket pair. I will only call with these hands if I am already invested (BB, SB) and there is one other CC. Otherwise just treat it as a normal raise. A lot of players do this so if they get played back its still cheap and they can lay down. But if no one calls, they can take down the blinds. Its all dependent on who is min raising and from what position.

I can't bring myself to respect a pre-flop min-raise. Personally, I call min-raises preflop with all kinds of garbage...especially from the BB with about 80% of hands . Not that I advocate it, but cracking aces in a minraised pot with 75o makes me want to ejaculate all over innapropriate things.

If I see someone minraise at level 1, especially behind limpers, I immediately just write "donk" in my notes. No one who does this is a winning player
