Thought i played this hand well, but i've heard some dissenting opinions so tell me if/where i played this hand incorrectly!

Call, he can have a Q here that he was trying to steal the turn with and I wouldn't be too surprised if he showed up with a middle pair. By not betting this flop you have to call one street, and when you turn trips I think calling once more will be profitable.

You have to call because you checked the flop. He can have almost nothing here.

Oh, and bet flop

This is an insta snap call, looks like you have ace or king high with a spade, villain has nothing here most of the time, i dunno how you can even think about folding.

I think the turn is a cool spot to raise after you check the flop

Anybody with a pulse is going to know that you almost never have a flush here, and it's not very likely you have trips because how often do you check back top pair covsbb?

Your hand looks like A5 or something at best. Trip jacks is defffff the top of your range, must call river.

i added a good amount of Qx "air" he might have fired on the turn and gotten to the river with. btw i need about 29% equity to call.

he doesn't have to show up with air often for calling to be profitable, but it's close.


pankfish: i'm confused why Jx being at the top of our range is a factor that makes this a call? i thought about why this might be important, and since it's a call on the final street of action i can't see how a hand being at the top of our range is relevant.

spenda: not sure i like it since our opponents leading range is probably polarized and we'd only beat a bluff if we raised and got 3bet. do you disagree that BB's range is polarized on the turn, or are there are other factors i'm not considering?

it s pretty simple

after checking flop you have to call turn and river

river is a huge fistpump imo

also checking this flop is fine from time to time

VZ one thing you're ignoring in your range caluclation is just how much air your opponent can have since your line looks exactly like Ax hi with As looking for showdown, turning the NFD then having to fold the river.

opp will be firing almost all his air on the turn. and id be confident we will fire rivers esp when a flush card doesnt come.

like i said in the commune thread, insta snap call. as others have said your hand looks like air or a small PP at best and villain is vbetting/bluffing here with worse than you always.

snap call play fine otherwise. Like just calling the turn i think.

yeah maybe if he bets like twice the pot you can fold
