How did I do playing this hand?

I played this hand recently and just wondered what your thoughts are on how I'd played it. They guy I'm in the pot with is very aggressive, and I've noticed him trying to boss the table about with his chips. This was an MTT.

I fold preflop unless the original raiser has been very loose. Other than that I like it. Nh!

That's reassuring to know thanks Casey I wouldn't have usually called the raise but as I had position I thought it was OK as the other guy might have been trying to apply a bit of pressure pre flop to take the blinds down was it a questionable call do you think ?

Yeah sorry I meant I wouldn't have called the raise by the guy who raised before me but I did as I had position on 'him', - ah sorry for the confusion!

Oh no, HE has position on YOU. Whoever acts behind someone POSTflop has position. So the SB (you) would NEVER have position because we always act first postflop on all streets. Do you get that?

yeah calling oop from the sb with kj isnt great but apart from that you played the hand well.

Oh yeah I see what you mean thanks. I get confused because if I raise pre flop, i find it's usually better for me to be first to act post flop as I can reraise and they don't know if I'm bluffing or have a hand, thats why I get the position strength skewed sometimes. Thanks I'll remember that the SB always is in worst position :!

Being in position is so beneficial to your play, and it gives you a lot more options throughout the entire hand, wanting to act first because "they won't know if i'm bluffing or have a hand" is, a very strange strategy. I mean, you're grinding away at the micro-stakes, so you don't want to bluff 99% of the time anyway, because most of the players there are total calling stations.

In micro-stakes, it's best to stick to ABC poker, as it pretty much guarantees you to be a winning player, don't try any fancy moves. The players there aren't going to "respect" (lol) your bluffs, because they don't care about you, or any of the other players, they just focus on their hands and that's that.

Play tight, play smart, and you'll win.
