200NL: OMG a straight flush

Villain is 16/12 with 18 ATS, not much calling preflop over a smaller sample of 80 hands. I'm running something like 24/20 & am fairly aggressive postflop.

Beginner here also, but at a guess it is so that you can add money to the pot now - makes it easier to bet more on river.

My assumption is if no one calls your turn bets they probably wouldnt be calling the river either.

Don't check because there are a lot of hands he will call with but not bet with. We want to build a big pot. We don't want to see scare cards for him.

Your hope here is that he called the flop with the flush draw, and now you have him dead he wants to put all his monies in for you. Make it easy for him by betting and raising and stuff like that!

you guys are giving me advice as if this guy was a station. If anything I should err on the side of him being weak tight.

I don't see a weak/tight or even most tagg-bots at 200NL calling/raising the turn with less than a Kflush which is only one subset of his flop calling range.

sometimes ppl will go "omg no way he bets big with the A" and call with J or Q to big bets

plus in a multiway one player is check/calling looking like he is drawing to a flush.. bet that shit

you're not check/calling to hit your flush are you? if your opponent doesn't have a hand to call your turn bet, no card on the river will change that.

bet, you want at least a chance to play for stacks. He's running a mile from a check-raise without the ace high flush, and if he's got it you're playing for stacks anyway.
Bet $35, flat a raise. Hope he calls with a set and the river pairs the board.

Hi. A weak-tighty who wont call a bet, wont be putting any more money in the pot.

I think we can extract the most chips out of villain if we assume villain has a very strong hand... rather than assume villain has no clubs and no set.

We want the pot to be big by the river, so start betting. I'd throw out a 1/2 pot size bet.

My first thought is check to induce an auto-bluff.

After thinking about it more Bet, Bet is about the only line that's going to get all the money in unless he's really stupid.

I would bet $40 and if he raises the turn, call and donk the river.

Fold cause he has :7c: :8c: duh

A tight player has shown he likes his hand, keep betting

I c/r'd turn, he folded.

I made more value from the low end of his range, but probably woulda made more from the rest of his non nut flush range by just leading.

Against most of the nits I'm playing with, if I had A:club: and you c/red the turn, I'd look at the board, laugh, then fold.

For the first time ever for me, that red line has been pretty flat over my last 10k hands, which I'm quite happy about given how bad of a slope it used to have.

Unfortunately now my blue line is pretty flat also.

Learning is costly/fun.

Yes, yes I did :)

BvB I think, I knew you couldn't have a good stat read on me, or know who I was, & I figured your calling / floating range was wide enough on the flop that a bunch of it couldn't stand up to a double-barrel.

...Been playing more with double-barreling vs floaty regs with some success lately. Still pick a few bad spots. The board texture vs you wasn't the best IIRC.
