River decision with AA
Villian is 39/22/1.6 over like 20 hands... so i think 2 barreling this is standard.... but i decide to check river to him... theres four too a straight out there, i also think that he could have a set a lot here or two pair... Better ways to play this?????

Bet flop more.
Bet turn (close to) pot. (like you did)
At the river the pot is big enough that you can't get away anymore, shove it in and get called by both better and worse sometimes
-
^ That. This flop is coordinated enough that I would always bet the full pot to make sure anyone trying to draw on me is making a mistake by doing so. Turn card doesn't change a lot of hands but the same draws are out there, so pot it again. By the river (if played that way) you'd only have 11 left and the pot would be like 27, so just push.
-
You made a note of this villain and his stats, and said two barreling this is standard. Quite honestly, I can't see a spot where two barreling here would NOT be standard, unless it was against the worlds biggest mega-nit, and I'd still bet this turn.
The flop is so so draw heavy that we can expect a strong two pair hand or set to raise this flop. Because of this I'd set just go to value town on him. The only decision on this river I believe is to decide if he was drawing or has a made hand, and bet or c/c accordingly.
I don't think c/f here is good at all, given the pot odds you're getting AND the fact that the FD never got there. What hands with a 6 in them, call two barrels here? I can't think of many. He's pretty much repping JT and only JT when he bets this river.
-
i didn't mean anything by saying villians stats then saying 2 barreling here is standard based on villians stats. just trying to think about what i was thinking during the hand. sorry to cause confusion and i completley agree with griffey....
-
yeah on these coordinated boards you want to increase your bet sizing. As played call river.
-
I really disagree with shoving the river. The flush draw missed, a couple of straights missed, I think check/call gives us the most value here.
-
Also I don't think he has a set here too often. He either has a straight, made two pair on the river, or has a missed draw.
-
yeah c/c river seems good
-
I'm not sure.
If we bet flop closer to pot and turn almost potsized as well, theres not even 1/2 PSB left on the river.
Do we assume villain will bluff often enough with it?
He is calling a bet with TP more often then he is betting it himself isn't he?
-
this is a terrible fold due to pot odds. You are clearly not calculating them and its a huge leak in your game.
c/c river
-
Surely you check river to induce a bluff? I dont get this fold.
-
yep you gotta call river bet. $21 pot... $11 to call.
