To OP, for me that's an insta-call

To animal_chin, playing AQo in a 3bet pot out of position is not a whole lot of fun. At these stakes you don't see many 3bets and if there are any they are usually big hands like high pocket pairs JJ+, AK, AQ and maybe the odd time AJ. If you're planning on getting all the money in on this hand I would bet out on the flop and call a raise.

Running some hands through pokerstove.
AQo vs JJ+, AJ+ is 42% to 58%
AQo vs JJ+, AQ+ is 33% to 67%

But when that flop comes you're a 68% favorite. So I tend to lead out. There's enough players who will pay off with something like KK, QQ, JJ.

I'm joining the call camp. You're most likely up against a worse A. AT, A8 and TT are possible, but so are AQ, A7, JJ etc - all told there are more hands he would have played this way that you beat than there are hands that beat you. And your pot odds are something like $2 to win the $5 in the pot so that's a clear call.

My only worry in this hand is the flop check-raise which is near-min. It causes me to slightly favour an AT, TT or 55 type hand - but I don't think that really outweighs the pot odds you are given, considering all the other possible hands.

Now, a poster earlier indicated that this is not deep stacked. I think this is worth another comment or two. Technically it IS deep stacked, because effective stacks are 175bb. However, this hand doesn't PLAY deep stacked - it plays weakly like a micro-stakes game where people don't know the value of hands. In analysing the hand you wouldn't take deep stack play concepts into consideration.

IMO deepstacked is >200bb, but thats being pedantic.
