Building a massive bankroll?
Ok guys,
With the benefit of your experience and hindsight would you please provide your suggestions on the following.
I have a freind who wants to start playing online.
He understands Bankroll Management.
He wants to start playing off a bankroll and build it up. He has no desire to cash out and ideally would like to build it up over years as he moves up the levels.
He would choose Texas as his game of choice.
Should I, I mean should he:
Play limit or no limit?
Furthermore would he be better of playing sit n go's or playing cash games.
If you suggest cash games should he look at 9 (or 10) handed or 6 Max.
We are hoping that you seasoned vets could imagine starting again but knowing what path to take.
My freind would prefer playing live at the casino but he is unable to play there nowhere near as often as the ability to put in a couple of hours a day on line.
Do you think turning $500 into $100,000.00 over 5 years is feasible.

Take these answers with a grain of salt, I've played for a long time without proper BR management and just recently started playing within a BR online.

well, I think most of the looser action is at no limit, but it's a bit more complex. It might be better, and you can start a little shorter if you learn limit first. That way when you get to no limit your better at hand reading and you'll be used to swings.

I know plenty of players who started at sngs to learn the basics then moved on to cash games. That seems to work pretty well, but it's lends itself to a rough transition period.
The best way to go about it might be limit cash games -> NL SNGs -> NL cash games.

Most of us go back and forth as we learn new tricks and new ways to look at the game. If you're talking 5 years or 100g, then just focus on what's best for you at a given point. I'd start FR, but you can go either way.

Yes. Keep learning, and keep playing within the roll. Don't focus on 5 years, focus on the hand you're in.
