leaks - stats

Well, after 3+ months, and 59K hands, I have managed to break even at exactly 0.00 bb/100.

I am posting stats for 25/50nl 6-max only, which accounts for about 2/3rds of my total hands. I started with FR, but since then have been playing solely 6-max 4 tabling.

If you are wondering why i am playing at 50NL, its because I am well aware I can break even at 25nl and 50Nl comfortably, but bonus whoring pays off faster at 50NL. Infact the bonus are keeping me profitable enough while i learn to play better and fix my leaks.

at any rate, ive made many many improvements and changes over this sample of hands, but any comments/advice would be appreciated.

Thigns i already know are - I NEED to raise pfop much more, and am wokring on this.

also, for some reason, i think i am overplaying AKo & AKs as i have broke even with those 2 particular hands over 59K played.

I'm no expert on stats, I actually have a smaller sample set in PT than you...

Here's what my limited understanding can say about what I see...

Your vp$ip/pfr is taggy, but most people recommend getting the two numbers as close together as possible. 16/8 is cool, 15/12 is better.

Your W$SD is positive, but your losing a small amount overall. This -might- mean you're not getting max value out of some of your good hands. Again, I'm not an expert, just the first to take a look. I noticed you're getting5ptbb/100 out of aces, I've always seen this number higher, but I run a bit more laggy than you do.

Look up cocco_bill's stat checkups, compare your numbers to his if you're looking for ideas.

You call more, bet more, and raise less than I do. You might be missing spots when you can raise for value, to take your opponent off a hand, or to get away cheaper than you would had you just called.

Take all of this with a grain of salt, like I said, I'm no expert on this stuff yet. Part of the reason I replied is that I want to see if my logic works.

One area I would suggest looking at is increasing your raising range when it is folded to you in the cutoff. There is a big gap in your vpip between cutoff (14%) and button (21%).
Just increase your range in cutoff to approach the raising range you use on button. This will also help in increasing your PFR % and steal blinds % which are very low.

I suggest dropping to 25nl and learning to beat it at 4+ pt BB/100. Go back up to 50nl and repeat.
The reason I'm suggesting this is that you are likely to start making modifications to your game in response to suggestions here - some of these will work, some of them will cost you money (while you adjust). So lose smaller buy-ins while you adjust, adjust more and start to smash 25nl and then you'll likely be beating 50nl when you move back up - and it won't have cost too much!

ok, tips
1) Steal more - read spoon's post on stealing. Especially steal more from cutoff - people defend against it less.
2) Associated, open up your range from cutoff
3) Build pots bigger with strong hands - with a W$WSD of >52% you should be winning at a decent rate (or maybe your problem is losing too many big pots - you can investigate this one! compare number of hands shown down where you win with ones where you lose, and the average win/loss)
4) Defend against SB steals sometimes = 3-bet!
5) be careful c-betting AK out of position

\Hope this helps! Post more hands, post more responses to other people's hands. See how your post-flop thinking fits - posting is one of hte best ways to improve.

You limp or call too much preflop (PFR%)
Your not open raising enough when it's folded to you in the CO, button or SB (AttSB%)
Your pot control sucks, you win more pots but less money, it should be the other way around. Win money not pots.(W$SD%)
Your Check/folding a ton on the river, which means you are folding the best hand too often or not folding early enough (chasing)

This is just the start.

so most of these I already am working on, but here's my goals for the rest of March...

- Increase steal attempts from CO/But/SB
- 3-bet/defend from sb more
- get PFR to atleast 2/3rds VPIP ( aiming for 18/14 .. 16-12 ish to start)
- work on AK hands, especially OOP

guys, each of you stated i need to work on showdwons... so here is some more stats re: showdowns,,,
any more advice here?

Your went to showdown and won is more money than your went to showdown and lost. You are basically making more money showing down, but not enough to make up for hands you don't. You need to make more on showdown wins, and less on showdown losses. AK is the perfect example here. You are losing $627 with AK combined in showdown losses and only winning $556 in showdown wins.

The other rea that needs improvement are the hands that you don't showdown and the ones that are showing down for a loss. You need to look at showdowns overall and hands you are folding before showdown and figure out why your getting money in and losing.

Breaking even better than losing $$$$ gl next time around :)

This first one looks bad, but what happened was I had KK here, and AA on another table, and my raise bar was glitchy at the time so i just figured screw it, ill ALL IN the kk b4 i run outta time and focus on the aa hand.. /sigh
