Was it wrong to reraise?

I am unsure of these kind of hands, when they bet into me and I think that I have the best hand.

Now I made him fold, but the reason I reraised him was the possible straight draw on the board.

Should I have done it differently (to earn more money)? And what should I have done if there had not been a draw on the flop?

In this situation, it is important to understand the concept of a range. I don't know if you have been able to read into this at all, but if you have the chance please do. There are articles on this site, and ISF has a running theme of it in his blog I believe.

After just flatting from the SB, I would take out the likelyhood of some top hands (since he didn't reraise). Also, he needs somewhat of a decent hand to call here. Even though he is in the SB, there was a limp early MP. That limper can cause you to tighten the "range" you put villain on. I think something like:

22-88, any paint, Ax

The reason I give him this range is because I have no read on him, and it's microstakes. So, this is generic but it should be sufficient. I'm at work so I don't have PokerStove to illustrate, but I hope you get the idea. I think it's very reasonable to call here. Be prepared to bet 3/4 pot or so if he checks the turn. I also think a reraise is more effective on the turn as well.

I have not yet been working so much on ranges, I think there are so many things I have to work on, so at this point I only have a vague on his range :oops:

Maybee I misunderstand some of your answer, but he was not the one reraising it was me and then he folded.
Or are you saying that I should only have called and the waited with the reraise until the turn?

Wait to reraise on the turn. There aren't really any scare cards here. Also, if an A comes, it could give him TP, or 2pr. Most micro players will stack off with these mediocre hands. That also means that you will bet any A hard.

[edit] A reraise on the flop is not bad. Honestly, you probably won't make much here anyway. But on the off chance that the turn makes him a second best hand, I would just call personally.

Also when he is betting 8 cent into a 22 cent pot? Isn't he getting his possible draw way to cheap?

he may well have had middle pair or some trash and just wanted to see where he was and he found out.

Sometimes we just have to accept that even though we have a strong hand that we are not going to make much money because they are simply not interested in playing the hand for any significant amounts of wonda.
