im probably going to go for pot control on this one and check behind turn, and see his river action then, especially vs. an unknown.

You have to ask yourself what villan's range is, he limps UTG.

SC? most likely
AA? very unlikely but possible
Axs? very unlikely but possible (then you have to assume he got someting like A9s A8s

So he calls your flop bet, that means he hit something, either his Ax which is 88% chance he outkicks you, or he has hit his heart draw from his SC (or air ofc....).

When the 9 hits the turn, this gets harder. I would either check/fold or raise/fold. Most likely check fold. But as how you played it you didnt loose much and you played it ok =)

you're bluffing when you bet the turn, but because you can't call a river bet (edit: unless a 3 hits!) your turn bet isn't a bad play.

So checking behind and c/f river is prefered?
And second best option is bet turn, bet river when checked to?
And it's almost never correct to bet turn and check behind river when checked to as villain isn't folding a better hand to just a turn bet?

his range to check call the flop is like Ax ... all of which beat you besides A3 or whatever, and a FD. the FD gets there on the turn, what are you actually beating now? a bet doesn't get value from anything, so check behind on the turn unless u want to try to bluff him off of a stronger ace ... but in a lot of cases he's gonna have like AT w/ Th or whatever and won't be folding it cuz he probly figures he has the best hand or the best draw. there really is no 2nd best option, only option is to c/b turn and fold to a river bet.
