happy anniversary to me

today marks exactly 1 year since i quit smoking :shipit:

brief smoking story:

smoked for about 3 years and in the last one tried to quit a few times, but no success. i thought if i just waited for the desire to come from within, rather then just saying to myself "this is bad for me i shouldnt do it", it would be much easier. well, feb. 27, 2007 i woke up in the morning, and just had the desire to quit, and i have made it a full year, and plan on going the rest of my life. occasionally i smoke hookah, but that is different for me because i smoke it for taste not to satisfy an urge. also, sometimes i still have these dreams where i start smoking again, and go oh fuck i cant believe i did this im such a moron. then i wake up and am greatly relieved.

I used to smoke in college.. but quit and have only rarely done so in the last 6-7 years, however I STILL have those same dreams on occasion and on rainy/misty days still feel the urge to burn one down... I don't think that stuff ever goes away... that kinda defines "addiction"... anyway... Congrats on quitting!
