Villian is 36/18/1.62 over 130, and has been floating me like an absolute bastard since I sat down, so I'm considering myself to have at best 14 outs on the turn, with maybe the possibility of representing the flush if it hits.

How much credit do I need to be giving people for backdoor flushes? Am I just completely unlucky here? Am I overplaying the straight by check-raising? When he reraises me there can I lay it down? Should I have just check-called?

I think i'd just c/f turn. The 8 sucks because it gives u a few more outs, but do u honestly think that your J is still an out here? I'd say u have 11 at most and almost all of them will make the board so scary that he's hardly ever paying u off on the river.

If he's a habitual floater, wait till u hit a flop and then v-bet the fucker :D

What is the reason behind the check call of the turn? If you are going to call a 1/2 pot for a 4 outter to your straight (maybe count an extra few outs for an A on the river), why not bet it instead? The turn is a clear check/fold situation to me. At most you have 7 outs and you're calling a 1/2 pot bet going to the river oop?

As for the river I would not check. Sure, plenty of hands in his range hit the river strong that are not a flush and it's possible he'll bet anything if checked to again, but you run the risk of him checking behind and losing out on some good value. Open bet for value on the river and call a moderate raise.

You may not have noticed, but I actually had a belly buster on the turn, as well as an overcard, I was about 50% sure even my jack would be good if it paired (what with the amount of time he was floating), and I was thinking there was a good chance I could check-raise to represent the flush if that came out. I just couldn't possibly give him credit for fluking the backdoor himself. Basically what I'm wondering is, how much credit do I have to give people for backdoors comming out?

Either bet the turn or c/f it; given that this is 10NL and nobody folds I'm inclined to c/f.

Value bet. Trying to extract the most monies when your confident you are ahead. I.e. against a habitual floater like this, pot it on the flop with top pair type hands. U know he's capable of calling with worse, so charge for the privilege.

As for your idea to represent the flush if it came, this is pointless at 10NL. It's impossible to represent ANYTHING when all they are doing is thinking about what they have. And even so, regarding how much credit they'll give u for it: How much credit did YOU give him?

Don't raise the river. I would often bet it, if he goes allin I may have bet myslef into trouble; if he's nice and just min raises then I get off fairly cheap and just call the raise.
