Flopped sets on a FD board

This is prolly a 101 question, but f- it... why stop asking them now...?

"It seems"* that 60+% of the time that I flop a set the board also contains a two suited cards. So my question... Most* of the time when I PSB the flop to kill the drawing odds, I end up basically taking it down. I feel like I'm losing the potential to get turn and river value from these sets. However, if I bet smaller 1/2 - 2/3 PSB to try and keep people in build the pot, I know I'm risking losing the hand if the draw completes.

Am I more concerned about the FD (esp. if there are only 1 or 2 others in the flop) than I should be? What's the usually appropriate way to go on these?

Wouldn't betting 2/3 the pot be denying your opponent proper odds to draw to the flush?
Or no ? Because of Implied odds?
I just play SNG's but will probally start playing Cash when i have a bigger roll.

I thought we'd cured you of that 1/2 pot bet thang. Make draws pay. Trust me, you'll get callers. Anywhere from 2/3<PSB is usually good, closer to pot if it's multi-way. Remember, you're building a pot and betting for value. Sets are big pot hands so start building one.

if you won ever pot you ever played preflop you would make money.
Hence, it doesnt matter that you 'only ' won anything you still won.
So bet it out and dont look to get action, it will come to you fast enough in enough spots.

I would probably bet about 2/3 the pot, then bet hard on the turn regardless. If they did hit their flush, you have 10 outs; and if the flush didn't complete, you are making them pay big to draw.

That's not our goal with a set though. We just make the draw pay. Give 'em bad odds, and you'll win often enough to be profitable. That's the short and long I think.

Yeah, make 'em pay to draw. If they fold to any bet anyway, then gg set payoff.

you can get a bit more frisky on drier boards. when you hit your set, and the draw came with it...dont F around!! ...unless you like suckouts.

you wouldnt start limping AA because your raise folded the table the last 2 times, would you? same thing.
