does anyone else?
and i mean time wise, not position or anything
i mean god, it's 5:20 am .. lately i've been sleeping from like 7am until 3pm.. how do i fix this
actually the day before yesterday was one of the worst, 10am until 8pm... yes asleep until 8pm.. ok quad post is good enough for me
Get a job?
i have one, i just can pick my own hours... and screw 9-5s.. i had a "job" for about 4.5 years and i never really adjusted...
Make yourself go to bed earlier, then earlier the next night, then earlier. Set an alarm each day and when it goes off, get up (give yourself say 7 hours). Straightforward but effective.
but how much sleep did you lose?Quote:

I have found that I can't make myself go to sleep earlier even if I want to- I end up just lying in bed thinking about random shit.Quote:

terrible advice so far.
Just stay up until like 10pm, youll be tired as shit and sleep for like 10+ hours, problem solved.
the key is a routine, my problem was always that I wanted to sleep in on the weekends, once I started getting up around the same time every day (within an hour) I evened out.
re OP, for sure my body doesn't run on a 24 hour clock, I would always want to sleep about 8-10 hours then be up about 20, but it makes it hard to schedule your life.
I suck at sleeping too.
LOL, you're creative sirQuote:

ya, i think that's what i'm like i guess... sometimes i will go to bed around midnight, then the next night 6am... gaah it's so weirdQuote:

Quoting Warpe be carefull not to overdo the exercise, or, like he said, you will need more sleep, and that could hurt your time at the tables. Just do this. Wake up, do 10-15 push ups. Brush your teeth, do 10-15 push ups. Take your shower, do 10-15 push ups. About a couple hours before you want to sleep, fire off a bunch of sit ups. Or jumpsnap. Just something that gets you going.
Same here, I think I'm on a 25 hour cycle or someshit cause when I don't do much with my life I can't get to sleep before 7am and even then it's a struggle. 6-2 is the cycle i'm trying to stick to at the moment.
wow i just slept from 5pm until 7am... maybe i'll sleep "normal" for a while now
just set an alarm clock and get up at the same time every day no matter when you go to sleep. I used to have like a 30 hour day where i'd stay up for 20 hours then sleep for 10, but now i have a normal schedule. Sometimes it's a bitch to get up, but overall it's worth it.
ya this is where my (lack of) self discipline shows the most... i tried this and usually got up 1-2 hours after my alarm went offQuote:

Since school has ended, I've been going to bed around 8 am lately, waking up around 6 pm. Playing poker for 12 hours, and rinse and repeat.
School stars again monday, so to fix it, I'll simply force myself to stay awake.. So instead of going to bed at 8 am, I'd just stay up another 12 hours and go to bed at 8pm, and the problem is fixed in a day. Probably have to do this today, actually.
I've got to be somewhere at 9 am tomorrow morning, and i just woke up and its about 6pm. If I can stay up for about 28 hours, I'll be back to normal for school.
I was doing good for a week or so, getting to bed at 11pm and getting up at 7am. I dunno what happened, but now it's 6.43 AM and I'm getting ready for bed. And I wasn't even drinking yesterday.
LOL strike that. It's now 9am, Im gonna eat breakfast before going to bed.
damnit i was doing so well for like a week, now it's 5:00 pm and just woke up
i just realized how much this post sounds almost exactly like halv's.. weeeeeeee
Who the hell needs an alarm clock?... Have a couple of kids, you will never sleep past 7:00am ever again.
Waking up problem solved...
Now if someone can tell me how to actually fall asleep... I routinely fall asleep around 2am.. and I'm up before 7am almost every day. I feel like complete crap 60% of the day.. but when it gets around to the next night.. I do the same thing.
you fucker i almost split my drink out when i read thisQuote:

bad sleeping pattern is just a symptom of a bigger problem known as lack of self discipline and laziness. so how do fix that?
I've been thinking about that, the best solution could be to get a job. That would have some other positive side-effects too ;).
4.38 AM friday morning here. Tonight I'm going to go stay with some friends for a little party-weekend, I wonder how that'll affect my already fucked up sleep pattern. I have very bad experiences with little sleep + much alcohol.
Edit: strike that, 7.40AM and counting. Gonna get somethig to eat and then try to sleep. Beat: spent the last three hours surfing random non-porn crap on teh interwebs.
Okay, I've now been up 26-ish hours. It's 10PM and I'm gonna go to sleep. Hopefully I'll sleep 8-9 hours and manage to stay at a good schedule for the next few weeks.
Gl, you'll be nocturnal again in 10 days or so. :cool:Quote:

How're you doing?
Mornin FTR'rs. I went to bed around 3:30am. My alarm went off at 9:30 but i did manage another half an hour and got up at 10. cramming for a spanish test. Yippee.
I've gone about 72 hours without sleep.
Cocaine is a helluva drug.
lolz i read this thread and thought all these post were today so I called up sauce and asked him how the hell gabe was flying in to see sauce and c-luvin.

WHeeeeEEEEE
You only die if you play videogames for 72 hours straight. All other things are fair game.
bump
since i sleep weird i have decided to start trying polyphasic sleep ... i think midas tried it once or something... basically you sleep like 6 times per day for 20-30 mins rather than 6-8 hours once per night. sounds neat. lots of info on it here: http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/200...yphasic-sleep/
I sleep even weirder... I try to get to sleep but I hear all kinds of very very loud noises in my head.
For example, last night I was just starting to dose off when I suddenly heard someone shout my name, then later same thing but a really loud bang, then a while later I heard a girl screaming really high pitched for about 4 or 5 seconds as if she was stood right next to me.
Strange thing is, if I just lie down planning to get up in a couple of minutes I fall asleep straight away.
Conclusion: I am completely insane
This works!!!!Quote:

Also I have found that i cant sleep days as easily if the sun comes in the widow in the morning. Have found its harder to sleep the more tired I am so If I only slept for 4 hours the night before I can count on not falling asleep till about 3 AM and waking up about 6:30 AM.
I cant remember the last time I slept all day because these days once Im up am awake :(
woops... i went to take a 9am nap and instead of setting my alarm clock for 930am i set it for 930pm and didn't get up until 3:00pm ..... well let's try that again
OK Im seriously jealous, was ready for a nap at 9:30 am, could'nt because I had to bake for thanksgiving. Now Im done baking and am more than ready to sleep but I cant because my son will be home in 15 minutes. All I can say is enjoy sleep when you can. If you dont have to keep "proper hours" its ok. I worked nights for years and loved it.
I've got a messed up sleeping pattern too. It's been this way since I was a little kid.
I'm up late every night. I'm usually going to bed around 5am (not so bad for some of you, but still crazy IMO).
About 6 months ago I decided I wanted to change that and thought a different work schedule might help, so I changed my shift so that I was starting at 5am, thinking that before long I'd HAVE to start going to bed earlier. I gave up after 3-4 months because in that entire time the earliest I made it to bed was 1am, and that only happened once.
It didn't matter how tired I was, I just couldn't sleep. I was a zombie.
Now I start at 2pm, get home around 11pm. I stay up until 5 now and sleep until my alarm goes off at around noon.
It's just not worth fighting against myself.
kids are far far away in my life! :D i'm definitely a night person myself.Quote:

Whoever said iv'e done 72 hours non-stop. Me 2, no drugs involved but i was a mess afterwards..
Bump for apathy and hating weird sleeping patterns.
The last couple of weeks I've been sleeping "normal" hours, getting up at around 7.30am and going to bed around 11.30pm. This week has seen me fall further and further into nocturnality (is that even a word?). Now it's 8am and it's starting to become light out, but of course I'm going to sleep. There's only a few hours of daylight in Norway at this time of year so it will be pitch black when I wake up.
I'll get up at 4pm, eat dinner, play a little poker, surf a little, watch some TV, and then it's too late to get out of the house and meet people and do something. At that point I have no energy to play poker or do other meaningful stuff, so I end up watching more TV, surfing and playing computer games (I went and installed Counter Strike Source last week and haven't been able to let go of the fucking thing since). So I don't get anything done, and I feel like a total slob. I often find myself wondering what day of the week it is. Of course I've got no-one to blame but myself.
And the irony of it all: when I got up early I was complaining about there not being any good games going at the euro sites. I'd be too tired to play in the evening when the good games started. Now I get up when the good games start, but I don't feel motivated at all to play. And at night when the best games are going, I still feel too tired to play.
What a miserable bastard!
