OMG I hate two things so much

1. I hate PDF so much. WTF? PDF is the biggest piece of shit in the world. I would rather burn my face than accidentally click a PDF link. I hate when I'm googling something important and I click the search result a half second before I realize its a PDF file... The files are so bloated, cumbersome, and shitty. Its like the big dumb bully from 6th grade that you could punch in the balls and run in a cirlce around him before he could do anything - except you can't punch PDF files in the balls; they don't have 'em. Seriously, the program can't even SCROLL right.

And who are the PDF people? Is it normal, straight-shooters who just want to get their point across? No, its old out-of-touch codgers who think that PDF is great because they are used to waiting 4 hours for their computers to restart. But guess what, my computer was bought within the last 10 years and it doesn't randomly restart, and it doesn't have an original install of wolfenstein 3d on it, and it doesn't have vanilla wafer crumbs in the keyboard so don't put that SHITTY PDF SHIT ON MY SHIT.

Oh great - Adobe just offered me to upgrade for only $11,000 so that I can actually DO SOMETHING with the files instead of have to print them off, fill out the blank forms, and the re-scan them every time I get lucky enough to deal with some backwards, dark-ages businesses that uses PDFs for important information.




2. I hate stupid bicyclists and I hate the laws that protect them. No offense to the smart ones but I hate these skinny little homos who bike down the middle of Rock Road at 7:30 AM rush hour traffic just because they are legally protected.

They ruin traffic, they put themsevles at danger, they put other people in danger, and they look stupid! They should be punched in the face. Today some asshole bicycle CUT ME OFF so he could get into the Best Buy parking lot. I'm driving a Chevy Blazer, you're riding a bike.. don't swerve in front of my car from the right lane all the way across into the left turn lane just because the law says you get to ride your queerass bike. I don't feel like seeing your innards all ripped up under my car and feeling guilty about it. Especially not at 7:30 in the morning.

I am absolutely positive that the people who INSIST on spreading these cancerous PDF files are also the same people who ride bicycles down busy roads in rush hour traffic.

Oh - and a google search for "i hate pdf" comes up with 2,230,000 results.

Although I am a biker myself, I do understand where you're coming from.
The only problem is is that they just dont build enough bike lanes, so we have to ride on the road.
You should try riding a road bike one of these days because with 120psi in the tires you really will not want to be riding off to the side where there are pot holes, rocks, dirt, glass etc...

Not sure what you're doing with PDF's... I've never had a problem with any PDF under 5MB in size; sure they take a bit to download but that's a bandwidth thing. Not sure what's wrong with your install size, but I'd say get away from version 7, which was fairly slow and move up to 8. My 8.1 install is only 89MB (which is huge compared to foxit, but nothing like the 200Mb you have now), and I seem to remember the 7.0.8 install I had wasn't much bigger than that.

So it certainly seems like your reader has a bit of bloat in it. Kill all versions of it and reinstall.

Yea you make a lot of sense, but even so it just kills me that I can download 700mb tiff images from the hubble site and open them faster than a 4 page text document.

PDF (despite supposedly being THE file sharing format) is really limited but quickly became an internet standard back in the 90's as people liked the fact that the reader was free and you didn't need Office.

I'm a cyclist too but bad/reckless cyclists are a fucking bane. Couriers are the worst of the lot - when I'm cycling I feel most at risk from bikes, then buses/trucks, then taxis, then cars.

However, responsible cycling does involve a fair deal of assertiveness on the road - there are times when you have to claim the road for your own safety. I hope drivers understand when we have to do this - it only delays you by a few seconds, if at all.

we have a lot of cyclers, cycling tourists and idiot cyclists up here in northern New England. the roads have no shoulders and so they are on the road and the idiots will be 2-3 abreast, and not single file

No I do not understand delays. If A cyclist is on the road I just keep driving in my lane like he isn't there and if they wanna move they'll move. I've hit a few with my side mirror already. They should be driving against traffic anyways so they can see it coming right before I nail them in the teeth.

Im just kidding. Only thing I hate is bicyclists who take up the road for no good reason and then cut off cars without hardly giving them enough time to brake. That is a perfect definition of stupidity and those people should not be polluting our gene pool.

yah its pretty much the same thing as a someone who rides a motorcycle, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. The annoying shit though is the snobby bicycle/motorcycle riders. Most people on the road have no clue what its like to be in your shoes, and you know this. You are taking a risk and taking on the responsibility of your own heightened danger when you get on the bike/motorcycle. People should be a lot more careful when around you, yes, but the fact is most people wont give this respect.

foxit reader is way better than adobe and it's not even close. takes a fraction of the time to open up stuff .

I hate how long it takes adobe reader to open. I never understood why people bitched about microsoft all the time, yet adobe has a propriety format and was taking market space from m$. Sure the reader is free, but you have to pay to create them (as far as I'm aware).

Just save your files as an .rtf and it will open in any editor.
