1st 10k hands of 2/4 lets play find the leaks

I have included the hands I have lost out of the SB, 44/33 were both undersets, of which I have 5 total for this group. I also am running like unbelievable crap in 3bet/4bet hands. I have spewed away 1.5 buyins mostly from frustration, and 1 bad play. This is the only hand that I can find that I question:

I am hoping this is all just variance, all suggestions are appreciated.

I was gonna say that I think you're playing waaay too many hands UTG/EP, but then I checked my stats and I'm raising 16% UTG.

So I guess this is for both of us, tighten up in EP!

Your range must be similar to mine, so I think we should probably both stop raising so many suited connectors from EP. Once in a while is ok, but I'm pretty sure I've been raising most.

I can't really comment about all the stats, better players then me should do.

About the hand:
Raise more preflop 55-60, to cut down on his implied odds and therefor narrow down his range.
As played I'm betting the river for 100-120, folding to a push.
By 3-betting bigger preflop you should be less afraid of the flush.

i run almost the same as you. you run 1% more loose UTG and EP, so basically the same.

from the stats i can't see any glaring problems. my cbet % is higher than yours (flop bet after PFR) by 10%. you're also considerably more aggressive than me on the turn and river...which leads me to believe you're putting in some big turn semi-bluffs and river bluffs.

your sample size is really small.. you could just be running bad.

Just looking at your AA hands from the SB, you're clearly losing some AA hands.. so that can't be helping yoru winrate. Whats your total winrate for AA over these hands?

I would guess that you should be c-betting 65% & up of your hands?
Maybe your general post flop aggression should be slightly higher,
& I don't know but cold calling 6% on the button could be high.

As for the hand in question obviously that level is a different kettle of fish but I would set hunt or fold 55 oop.
As played I wimp out on the river and usually
a) Bet-fold against a standard tag. (75%) (I dont think they raise sets on boards like that.)
b) Check-call against a sufficiently aggressive opponent who will value bet worse/bluff (25%)
- but I think this may be too weak at your level.

I raise less from the first two positions and more from the CO and button.

As for the hand... tough decision... I think I value bet ~$130 and call a push.

Uhhh wtf is with your raise size pre?


Some leaks I think you may have from me playing with you.
1. You're too nitty.
2. You play OOP too much and used good variance to back it up as a good idea.
3. You're too predicatble

As far as raising in EP, my range is actually tighte than I ran at 100/200, due to me moving up(~20). The interesting thing of note is that there aren't many players with stats like mine(21/17) at 400. They are either 15/10 or 25/20, almost like they moved up and either couldn't handle the 3bets and tightened up or started 3betting more and loosened up. As far as running bad, I haven't rn good since May, June has been just horrible. I moved up 'cause 1: I am overrolled now for 400 and 2: I don't have any big things to pay for(not like April/May/June).


As far as the first hand I posted, I bet $150, he pushed, I called and he showed KJh.

It was a while ago, but I thought pre-flop you were a bit tight but pretty much ok. Post-flop it wasn't difficult to figure out where you were at and take pots away from you.

hand 2 - i would probably just push, since you have less than a pot size bet, and he could check behind with worse hands but might call given the odds

hand 3 - i feel like you just got owned by 55 here. I play it the same though.

hand 5 - Just push this turn, your hand is huge, 2 pair and flush draw. I think that was the worst river, and you're not beating much now.

lol I was thinking the same thing. you're stacking off with every single QQ, AK hand, even facing serious PF aggression. I think NOT 4-betting is also ok sometimes, preflop.

what are your total numbres for AK/QQ.. I guess this is biased given that your overall numbers are in the red, so AK/QQ probably are as well.

I guess this really depends on how aggressive these games are playing, and how often you are getting 3-bet. I know when I made my few goes at 2/4, I got 3-bet like EVERY raise, in which case, you'd have to go big with AK/QQ.

Hand 5:Villain is very bad super spewy, same villain as 18 when he showed 88.

The games are super aggro, I have been 3bet constantly. It seems that most of the regs are even shoving JJ pre and frequently AQ.

As far as some of the hands in question. The AK hands I was up against AA 3 times, QQ once, and hand 7 when Gogols Nogols nose pushed AQ. Hand 14's read is that this is a steal everytime this happens to be the one hand I tried to defend against this villain, he showed 97o. All sets in this series are losers except 26 when he showed 44.

Looks like you're too passive postflop from your stats. C-bet more, double barrell a bit more, you should be betting the river more as well. I imagine you're checking down too much when you should be value betting, among other things. Your cold call frequency is high, which isn't nessicarilly a bad thing but you should be more aggressive in position and steal pots away from the pfr who often has nothing and is OOP.

Your W$SF% is really low for a $2/4 stars game, it should be in the 40s at least. This tells me you're just giving up on pots too easily postflop and good players will pick up on that and exploit you like I imagine what is happening now.

As for the hands you posted ..

1. Standard.
2. Just shove river.
3. Fold river, I think you're getting valuetowned always here. Your hand looks a lot like 99+ when you bet the river, I don't think he is ever trying to get you off an overpair.
4. Obviously fine.
5. Looks good if you fold river, calling is pretty spewy.
6. This could go either way depending on a lot of things, with some history I'd go as far as to say it's standard. I think people 4 bet AK almost always in these games so I don't mind getting in readless.
7. Totally standard.
8. This is also fine.
9. Again I could go either way depending on history and so forth. Generally I don't think it's horrible but folding is better here I think without reads.
10. I probably just shove myself after the squeeze rather than committing half my stack, but yeah pretty standard against most players.
11. Fine.
12. Fine.
13. Fine.
14. Hate preflop, not a good hand to defend with and stack aren't deep at all. As played postflop is more or less standard.
15. I probably just shove turn unless I thought he was really bluffy, but calling down like this is fine as well.
16. I probably call flop and re-evaluate turn vs most players, sometimes shoving but not typically. Some villains you can fold the flop against also.
17. I probably fold preflop but it's close, I think you should c/f the flop though. Also, a smaller raise on the flop is better so we can get away if MP calls or shoves (we're beat either way).
18. Fine.
19. Preflop is sketchy, postflop is fine.
20. Like all the other AK hands it's very read dependant, but generally speaking felting this against anybody who isn't a nit is never terrible.

Looks like you ran pretty bad in these hands, but I think you have some fundamental problems that need to be addressed, specifically your play in smaller pots to medium ones. You seem to play well in the big pots, but it's easy to run into a downswing when a couple don't go your way and you're still getting owned in smaller pots. I think you're just too predictable overall and people are able to put you on hands very easily and so forth.
