4bb / 100 ?
Hello all,
I'm a 22 year old poker newbie from Switzerland.
I've started playing limit hold'em in January.
I read yesterday in an article on FTR that some players win 4bb/100.
Does it mean that you are supposed to win the amount of 4bb for each 100 hands dealt?
Also, I noticed that I'm doing the right things pre-flop, but I suck big time post-flop  .
Any specific advice or recommendation?
Thank you all in advance for your valuable advices.

Hi XTR1000,
thanks for your help!
For the moment I play 0.50/1$ limit hold'em on 10-people tables.
I play appropriate hands only, and some hands differently depending on my position. I think I play poorly post-flop, unfortunately I couldn't find
a guide of what mistakes newbies make post-flop.
Thanks again for the link.

fku,
There are 2 limits forums at FTR, you should check 'em out as we has some really good limit players (past and present) on this site.
I will tell you this, DO NOT bring this question over to those two forums, it's age old and been answered too much.
Here is the correct answer:
With the rake the way it is, if you are flat-out killing the game you are playing you will beat it for at the most 3bb/100 over a large sample. This assumes quite a large edge. Once you get up to 2/4 and above running 1.5bb/100 is a very solid and respectable winrate. I would love to run 6 tables at once and win 1bb/100 at 2/4 and higher. It would be some really nice money especially if you get on a site with rakeback.

LOL, I just realized I didn't even answer your question.
This is what running 4bb/100 is. In .5/1 FL (fixed limit) FR (full ring) running 4bb/100 would mean winning 4 $1 bets over 100 hands.
A bb is the "big bet" which is the increments of betting on the turn and river.
If you really want to improve your postflop play pick up these books:
1. Theory of Poker by David Sklansky
2. Small Stakes Limit Hold'em by Sklansky and Miller
3. King Yao's book on poker mathematics
