I was drawing nut flush with a pair on the board, I felt it was appropriate to call that raise

Yea, the call was good. I dont play Ax offsuit though in that spot. Just too much of a reverse implied odds type hand.

Well this is really not reverse implied odds

Implied odds are this: You invest a little amount of money to win a much larger sum

Reverse implied odds are this: You invest a large amount of money to win a smaller sum.

That's as simple as I can put it really. Therefore, this spot really isn't a reverse implied odds spot PF but it's kind of a spot you don't want to put yourself into. You will be OOP the entire hand and your hand has very little promise and can get you into a lot of trouble. I'd much rather complete 86s in the SB than A50 because that hand cannot get you into a lot of trouble but A5 certainly could.

I guess I was talking about buying in full because you only have a $8.25 stack at $25nl. What gives?

To me, the problem with how you played this hand wasn't calling the turn bet, but your bet on the turn. I think a bet here is fine, but it's the size of the bet that's the problem. Your 50 cent bet into a 1.50 pot (slightly less after rake) screams of weakness, and seems like you have a drawing hand and are trying to see a cheap river. If you are going to lead here I would lead for a dollar. How you played it makes it hard to know whether your opponent has a legit hand or whether he was just raising you because he sensed weakness.

Now if you bet a dollar and he raises to 3, then it is more of a clear cut fold, although if you think there is a decent chance he'll pay you off on the river if you hit then I suppose it could still be a call given that you are getting around 5:2 on pot odds, and are most likely only a 3:1 dog.

What all of this really amounts to, imo, is either check or when you lead out, show some strength. Don't compromise and throw in a weak bet which smells of draw to a decent player (although at 25 NL I suppose many players may not pick up on this, so at this level it might not be as big of a mistake as it would be at higher levels).
