how many limpers and probable cold callers does it take

i ask because i tend to play very aggressively preflop, yet lately i've been thinking that's a leak in fullring.

like if you think there's gonna be four to a flop, then raising 77, even IP, doesn't strike me as a good idea since you need a set to win most of the time. and people like to say that being in a raised pot when you hit a set is much better than a limped pot, but i think that applies to when it's really shorthanded, like HU.

6max im raising all these hands , in 6max you really want to punish limpers and create a loose image and most of the time your going to take down the pot with a cbet

in full ring (i havent played much in awhile) im more apt to call with a5s 77 down with about 3 limpers ...with 2 limpers i might stiil raise PP's..its alot easier 2 raise to get it all in postflop when you build big pots with PP's in position ....

First of all, if you're going to be aggressive preflop you need to be suitably aggressive postflop, otherwise it's a leak. It's a question of balance.

JJ, AK, AJ you are not generally trying to draw to a really strong hand, but they are strong starting hands. Best played heads up, so I'm raising to whatever I think will cull out most of the callers. If a really loose passive table I will call with AJ to 3 or 4 limpers sometimes.

KQ I might call with 3 limpers, and if It will probably take a big raise to get rid of them.

A5s depends much more on the opponents post flop tightness than preflop tightness. If tight postflop I might still raise with 3 limpers.

22 If the table is loose pre and post flop it's definitely a calling hand.

77 I will probably raise if I think I will limit it to two post flop. Otherwise probably call.

I play full-ring and raise all of these from LP no matter how many limpers and probable cold-callers there are. They're all always raise, except A5s and 22 are only sometimes, depending on opponents and my image. There are a lot of nits where I play, so a pre-flop raise + c-bet in position = $.

If you're in a game where a 4xbb+1bb/limper raise from LP still gets 4 callers, 1) congratulations and 2) you should probably limp behind with 22/77/A5s.
