AK,AQ and the rerepop.

You have AK or AQ in late position and someone has raised 3xBB. You reraise to 9xBB and they rereraise to 27xBB. Now what do you do.

To avoid replies saying "read dependent" could you give examples of how you would act given different reads or stats, and perhaps even the "in a bubble" action you would take given not enough hands played with your opponent for a solid read.

In a bubble I think KK/AA are very likely (although by no means the only possibilities) and I would not have a clue how to play if I called and hit the flop.

I say "very likely" because over the small 15k hand sample I have at 25NL it is my experience that even those players with laggy stats will often fold to a 3bet preflop without a huge hand and that 3 betting gets a lot of respect. It does get called sometimes by the opponents who perhaps have a "big pot" hand and are calling with implied odds in their favour, but when it is repopped, It's usually a monster.

I have some general thoughts on the situation:

- A very generous 4 bet range would include: (10-10+, A-Q+)
- You have position but the pot is already approaching your stack sizes. Position is less relevant than normal in this hand so you can weight the value of your position for less.
-Against villans 4-bet range you are racing, tied, or dominated. This is a fold for me (in a bubble)

I'm folding against an unknown.

Against a known I've 3-bet a fair amount with a 4-bet range presumed to be significantly wider than KK+... something like AQ: fold 80%, call 10%, push 10%, AK: fold 70%, call 20%, push 10%.

The thing is that the only interesting discussions involve how to play such hands against someone you have a history with.

AQ/AK play so poorly against the vast majority of low limit players' 4-bet range that I'd pretty much always fold them even with position.

I see what you guys are saying and I like it. So in a bubble or against someone who you may have some reads on but not a reliable 4-bet range read you would fold (and this seems sensible), and the intersting situations will occur when you know the player very well and he knows you, so that not only will 4-bet ranges be wider, but they will include some bluffs as well.

Just as a related aside, would you guys make the 9xBB reraise in position with these hands usually?

Unless they are a nit or the effective stack is pretty deep, Ill shove AK and fold AQ. Again, this definitely changes based on the flow of the game, but with my image I do find myself getting 4bet light fairly frequently and if I have been pushing the original raiser around a decent amount, AK is an auto-shove for value whereas AQ is a little closer but more often I would just fold. As the others have said, with a more reasonable image or against an unknown, I am typically folding these [unless im tilting].

I will probably be 3betting AK like 95% of the time and AQ closer to 75-85% [not as randomizing, just approximated because of different players opening ranges]

in small stakes this is normally a fold unless you are aware your opponent will do this with 99 or 66 etc.
At small stakes your opponents arent really capable of moves or are bad, so i react to the raise with the info i have.

Against an unknown/relative unknown i fold in a flash.
