I'm Frazzled - These folds bad?

I have been running bad at 50NL over January so moved down to 25NL to regroup.

I seemed to spend last night folding and am worried I have developed an adverse reaction to big pots; here are a few laydowns for consideration..

1) Villan is classed as TAG 22/13 over 250 hands, not sure how many hands I had with him at time.

I didn't C-bet due to number of callers. I should have bet more on turn I think. On river at best I'm splitting and more likley he shows down KQ or a set, right? Probably just fold turn? Gah hate AK......

2) This is AA/KK every time, right? New at table but even if he was re-raising with AKs (which he wouldnt this was his only re-raise) i'm behind. Would anyone prefer a call on the flop and try and show down cheap? If I wasn't happy to go all in my flop raise is probably spewing when I consider the range I put him on. I think 3-betting to ~$5 preflop would be the smarter line looking back. Sigh I've forgotten how to play :cry:

3) This is just pure gay. I am a broken man! No c-bet as I dont do this against call-call-call merchants with A high. Folded as villan had a VPIP of 50+ but aggression of under 1. Monsters are no longer just under the bed but jumping up and down on it blowing rasberries....

Hand 1: I see no problem with folding the turn to the check raise. He's putting you on the K every time, and betting a better hand.

Hand 2: Smooth call his flop bet here because you have the Qd, and also may have the best hand already. You want to see a turn here cheap, because a lot of things are possible on the turn in your favor. If he's behind he has few outs. If a diamond hits it slows him down. Most of the time you raise the flop, but not this time IMO.

Hand 3: Check call/fold river based on your read. No reason to bet this without an exact tight type read.

Hand 1 I call because this looks like a bluff.

1) I think you played this well, I just probably make a larger bet on the turn. Given how the hand has played out I dont really think you can fold to the c/r, but when it gets to the river I really doubt you are winning enough to make this +EV. This fold is a good one I think, just hard to make sometimes.

2) No, it isnt going to be AA or KK everytime, but a big percentage of the time it will be. Anyways, preflop it was already 3bet so if you were to make it $5 that would be a 4bet. I really wouldnt like putting another raise in as at these stakes that is going to essentially make sure we never play a big pot while ahead. Also, in a spot like this if for some reason you did 4bet youd want to make it more than $5. Anyways, on the flop I think you have the general idea right with your comments, dont raise if you are going to fold to a 3bet. I like just calling this and then re-evaluating the turn, essentially just trying to get to showdown cheap

3) How many hands are these stats over? AF numbers can definitely swing a hand from call to fold, but you cant put too much trust in them when it isnt over a decent sample [i.e. hundreds of hands for a good idea]. I dont hate the flop check, but dont think it would be bad at all to bet here. Anyways, as played the turn is an obvious bet, on the river it isnt as clear. Our hand definitely has value here as a 6 is not likely to fold and we might even get called by some random 1 or 2 pair hands, but I think c/cing here may be too week given that our opponent is likely passive. If we are going with our read on our opponent that he is passive [i.e. not bluff raising the river or raising a worse hand "for value" and checking behind a lot if we check to him] then I think a b/f is fine

I agree that a more specific read is important here, but dont see how you could come to that conclusion at all based on his read. If we are checking this river against a 50+vpip player who is passive we are losing a ton of value.

i would call the river on the last one, others look like good folds although i dont like the flop raise in hand 2

Hand #1: Good.
Hand #2: See Rondavu's post. Basically, by raising the flop here you're folding out hands you beat and giving action to hands that beat you.
Hand #3: I call river as played even though you're probably beat. I'd rather check call a reasonable river bet though.

i dont see why you guys would call the turn in hand 1. explain? what are you hoping for on the river?? a whole lot of the time you dont even have any outs.

Thanks for the replies, they are all very helpful. I think the QQ hand re raise was dumb, it just invites an uncallable bluff lots of times....

I personally called the turn in hand 1 looking to call a reasonable bet from the villan. I can see what Iowa says about it looking bluffy; but i'm running bad as I said and sometimes I will overbet monsters as well. I want to have a nice low varience period for a while and I think calling ratchets the varience up a notch. Theres probably a good chance he has AK as well a lot...
