Cash Game Help!!!

Now I know that a tournament should not be played the same as you would a cash game. But, I can't seem to spot the adjustments in my game that I should be making. I do well in live cash game play but not as good as I would like. I am horrible at online cash games.

I consider myself a good tournament player and my style is to generally sit around and play very tight poker for until the field gets to a size I which I can manage my stack well and glide to the money. I raise pre-flop and will fire at my opponent if I feel there weak. I try not to overcommit my chips on draws and am not a fan of slow playing. I often try to get all my money in ASAP with the best hand.

How can I start to be more productive in cash games?

Learn to play poker better. Knowing how to play the other guy's hand helps a lot.

No, I think you missed the point. I consider myself a great player with some good reading abilities. I do great in tournaments and cash regularly.

The thing is it's hard to find tournaments when I'm at home. I think my cash game mindset going in is flawed.

Anyone with something useful?

Didn't you say you suck at cash and now you are saying you play good? What exactly do you want to discuss? No offence, just make yourself clear.

I meant to say I am a very good tournament player. But I am baisically dead money in cash games. What I want to know is what adjustments I should be making in my play when I play in cash games.

fnord just told you. You obviously dont know enough about strategic concepts to do well at cash games which is why you are dead money in those games. In cash games the turn and river cards actually require thought, where as in donkaments they dont.

The transition is rough. I went through it from SNG's to ring games. I found out I wasn't that good at SNG's in the first place. The main difference is learning how to play the turn and river as mentioned above. It all comes with experience.

I also do much better in live cash games then i do at online cash games. The reason is the difference in players. Online players are more aggressive and bluff more so it is harder to read them. Live cash games are much more passive affairs and easier to take advantage of. Supertight is certainly right for low stakes online cash games (And I Mean Really Tight)

Fnord also makes a good point. Isnt exactly an easy skill to implement tho.
most people would agree with that especially when you are under time limit on the internet and people get angry when you take up time in a live game and they start gunning for you.

Depends. I play loose and play 35% of hands and I do quite well at low stakes 25NL and 50NL. Others play supertight and do well at style also. It is all about knowing what your style means and what others will expect you to do.

More important is your image at that specific table -- what has happened while you have been there. Maybe you sit down and get AA KK and AK in your first 3 out of 5 hands and you heavily contest pots without showdowns -- you might appear loose to everyone else.

QFT. Typical Online vs Live players make very different mistakes.

Stealing small pots and inducing bluffs are huge parts of my online arsonal. In a Live game, I might stab around a little for image, but for the most part it's hit a hand, play it fast and hope it holds poker with some tells mixed in.

Big-EZ. What stakes are you trying to move to? It might be worth starting from the bottom again and working your way up from 10 or 25NL where the play is fairly straightforward.

BE MORE PATIENT!! the blinds arent going anywhere in a cash game. sounds like you may be bringing your overly-aggro late tourney tactics into a small stakes cash game, and you are getting killed by "nut campers."
