just a no0bie question, it has seemed as though over the past four months about 80 percent of the hands i have lost going all in before the river i have gotten sucked out on, should i just not try and put him all in when i think they are on a draw and try not to get in as many coinflips preflp?
One of the best things you can is make your opponent make a bad play / mistake. It's not your fault if he ends up getting lucky and sucking out on you. Get your money in while you hold the best of it.
check the hand historys twice, make sure you actually put the money all in while ahead. Use pokerstove and see how far ahead or behind you actually were. I've had guys tell me I've sucked out on them when I was ahead from the all in. AA going all in Post flop against a set is not a suckout. KK going all in on the turn against A2s with an A on board is not a suckout.
Rather than just say it seems like you get sucked out on 80% of the time, save your hand histories or note the hands you get it all-in when ahead, and then, after 100 or so times you got it in when a ahead, see if it's really true. The human mind can vastly distort the apparent frequency of events.
Keep putting your money in good and you will win long run, eithier that or fold every hand preflop and push PF with AA, KK.
