3Bet vs. Call/Lead Turn - Which is Better and Why?

Assume full stacks and villain hasn't shown that he is an idiot or great yet. You are UTG with AKo. You raise 4bb's and get 1 caller from the the button. Flop comes something like K98 double suited. You bet out 3/4 pot and are instantly minraised. Is it better to 3bet or call/lead turn? Why?

What I've thought about so far is:
1. 3betting is not as expensive as calling/leading.
2. 3betting seems like it should force villain to raise/fold - Does this usually happen?
3. If villain just calls 3bet then the pot is really big on the turn which pretty much sucks.

Also, if you are in position and have been check/minraised, is it better to 3bet or call and reevaluate? Why?
