170bb (bad?) bluff
No good reads, around my 3rd or 4th orbit. So far BB seemed tight, but I may appear out of line because I had raised quite a bit and went all in twice already post flop...actually had really good hands but didn't get to show them down b/c opp (SB in this hand) called away flop/turn then folded the river.

So... you have no good reads and your image sucks. Sounds like the perfect scenario to put your stack in on a bluff...
-
This is really bad. The fold button is located on the left.
-
try to have SOME reads, but bluffing when you think the TAG is taking a line that shows weakness is a good start
-
Don't play big pots without a big hand or a big read.

hehe ok thanks everybody. i think i used to know how to play poker too.
-
limp-call 6$ preflop fishy unless he thinks u r donk and will stack off.
does he seem like player who would understand block-betting river?
what kind of hand would he be block-betting here?
I'm confused. Not saying it's terrible (in fact have a feeling he folded). Just confused.

As mentioned, you DO NOT want to pull a bluff like this with your current image. If you had pushed and shown a real hand or not pushed prior to this then it's fine. This guy has a pocket pair that he wants to show down and he's definitely throwing out a blocking bet. Luckily he has enough behind to give you some fold equity. This play works against tight players if your image isn't crap. I rarely see a tight player bet 1/2 pot river with a real hand after calling down. They either lead out 3/4+ or check-raise if they think you will bet again.

Everyone's right - my image and weak read killed this play. I wasn't in a good state of mind for poker and totally overlooked it.
All I knew was he hadn't played past the flop yet and had folded a lot pre flop...just thought he couldn't call without AK at least, and he didn't have that b/c of pre flop and flop.
Result - he let his time run down, called and showed AK :o So yea, now I will be more careful with regard to the advice here...and playing with more patience!!!
