Think im good but have doubts

Well i been playing on party poker for about a year now. I Got 3 kids a wife and a job that dont pay much. Anyways i dont get many chances to put money in, I put $150.00 in few months ago got to $250.00 then lost it all :evil: .Since i have been playing the free trnys on party poker trying to get a few free bux but the best i can do is get 150th or 200th so close yet so far but not bad i tell myself after all 16500 people joined.

I keep getting beat i got hands like A,A ,KK, ect... i put in a high bet to steal and chase off the ones looking for luck or forced in by the ante's then a person with more chips raises me so i have to go all in or most of the way in we flip they have A,K and beat me every time. Am i playing dumb betting on pocket aces kings queens and jacks? And can you point me to some post with good strats for texes holdem nl?

Anyways good to meet you all and thanks for any advice.

Read lots of stickies. Read the bankroll management thread. Read some of the guides some of the veteran posters have made up for both cash games and tournaments. Post hands and we will tell you whether you are a good player or not.

If you don't have a lot of money to deposit, bankroll management is VERY important. Once you have a bankroll of even a couple hundred dollars, you just play at stakes that are within your bankroll or else you will always lose your money. Definitely read rilla's post about that, it's stickied in this forum.
