FlyingPenguins August stats

I've never had a stats critique done before, but it seems to be in vogue so I'll give it a go. These are my stats for August.

That 2+2 PT leak finding guide was useful. Looks like I'm terrible at playing with 4 or more in the pot and when I'm not the preflop aggressor.

I have a lot of variance over small samples, but I was still doing OK at about 4BB/100 until the last 4000 hands or so, where I had a pretty bad time of it.

Any comments and critique would be appreciated.

22 was under set a couple of times, and QKs and 89s both had a habit of being underflushed.

20k hands really isnt that much, if you want to spot leaks the best way is to get someone to go through the hhs of all the big pots you lost, possibly also the big pots you won to see if you extracted the max.

You play a very nitty game and my guess would be that you pay off too much because im sure at $25nl they still give you action despite you being so tight, but i really cant tell without looking at hhs.

Post all the pots bigger than 50bbs that you lost if you want and i will go through them.

Thanks Arkana. I only posted August stats because my game has changed considerably since July. Although I'm still a nit I'm raising a lot more suited crap from LP which I didn't play at all previously. Although my PFR% has increased my VP$IP hasn't risen much at all.

I just went through the worst hands myself, and most of the ones that weren't simply getting drawn out on were just being too aggressive with AA - QQ or TPTK. There were a few other problems I saw, but this was by far the most common way for me to lose a stack.

How's it going with the suited crap? My LP raises tend to regard more on connectedness than suitedness - I'd much rather play 67o than Q5s.

It's not that playing that bad hands generally, and I think they do OK if I get it heads up. I'm raising a lot of Axs and SCs, then less often Kxs and suited gappers. On fairly rare occasions anything that might hit a hand, including unsuited gappers.

I generally don't get past the flop with most of these hands. But sometimes I get a bigger pot if I hit a big hand. Biggest problem is I'm not that good at playing draws yet.

I just realised you are playing full ring, any reason why you dont play 6-max? 6-max forces you to play more hands, more hands = more decisions = more money and better skills.

Maybe thats a problem in your full ring game, missing value in marginal situations. 25NL should be crushable.

Possibly, but wouldn't my short term variance suggest I get into a lot of marginal situations?

I think my problem is more putting in money in non-marginal situations where I'm at the short end. Losing too many big pots where it's obvious I'm beat. My hand reading skills aren't great, but a lot of the time they're good enough, and discipline is the issue.

At least that's what I saw going through the months big losses.

My VPIP declines from about 16% at the button to 10% UTG. This difference isn't enough?

My PFR% doesn't start decreasing until 4 from the button, which I guess could be an issue.

lol. One of your losing hands is 3o. You might want to fold that preflop.

Seriously though, I think you need to open up a little more and look at your post flop play. You might be giving up too easy or playing your made hands way too fast.

LMAO LMAO LMAO

6-Max NLHE isn't anywhere near the variance of other forms of poker if you're a strong player.

For what it's worth, the stuff about needing to play more hands in 6 max is way exagerated. You can play like a nit at 100NL and get some crazy action. If you mix in some other stuff, you'll get action from anyone who isn't camping 8 tables (and they're easy to deal with if you don't let them trap you.)
