The diamonds looked pretty & made me want to raise preflop.

When I first started playing ring my problem was I folded too often... now it's the complete opposite.

That's exactly the same for me, especially at 6max. I don't give anyone any credit for hands anymore and am slowly calling off by bankroll at $25nl :cool:

folding is a good thing to do when the signs are clear - Unless you know your playing a jackass who plays his AK hearts the same exact way here -

folding is a good thing to do when the signs are clear - Unless you know your playing a jackass who plays his AK hearts the same exact way here -

do you even know what you are folding to here though? without some kind of stats/read on an opponent, you really can't be sure, and he could easily be repping the straight or flush when he really only has TP. maybe he just has the As and he's on a double draw. i don't know how easily i would lay this down.

i know people always say, "without reads, give the villain respect" but that seems easily exploitable. you cant just go around becoming a passive fish just cuz you don't know what your up against.

i guess what i'm trying to say is, i don't know if i'm ahead or behind here. because some players are capable of making bluffs/semi-bluffs like this, while others would only bet with the goods. so how do you know where you stand? tricky situation.

Usually the villain wants to have some reads on his own when making moves, and by the time he has them we should have them as well. Of course some people are blufftastic donkeys, but I'd rather give them the benefit of the doubt and rake in their chips later on.

Of course sometimes you don't have any reads per se, but your gut feeling tells you to call/fold/meh. In these cases I mostly go with the gut. And most of the times I refuse to believe it and do what my brain convinces me to, I get burned.

Good fold...I decided to call one of these ridonkulous moves earlier today with top two river turned up 3-flush just for the F of it (and I've folded so many of em over time)...yea, it was the chase-monkey'd flush.
The tards love this move and I'm sure it's profitable enough or they wouldn't run it repeatedly.

But it helped encourage me given the prior laydowns...I'm sure 90% of them were good.

I would tend to agree if the turn wasn't one of the worst cards in the deck.
