how do you play KQs in early position? It's in the top 10 or so hands but ive read various things that it can be easily dominated. Do you limp or raise PF?

at low stakes I limp. i feel fine calling a raise in back, and i also feel fine taking it versus 3+ other limpers.
KQs and AJs are two of the difficult hands to play in fr poker becasue of domination. Its a continuing discussion about how you play them.
Im happy putting people on cards post flop so i raise with KQs in ep but by no means do you have to, it plays fairly well multiway.
On a full table I limp on tight tables and fold on loose tables from EP
I raise with it always.
EDIT: its not a huge ev play though. But probably more ev than limping it. Its a preference thing.
raising them gives me a lot of problems.
If raising gives you problems how about limping from any position, if no ace comes on the flop but a king comes down you probably have tptk, an AK would have raised preflop. Test this with a 2/3 pot raise , trips will come over the top, draws will call. Keep raising to take the pot. (situational but a method none the less) its ok to call a min raise preflop but a 3bb or more call could mean your up against AK.
not necessarily at micro-stakes.Quote:

I win money with KQs in ep.
Thats why i raise...
don't raise if you suck at c-betting
I almost always raise KQs, but only situationally will I c-bet.
Eg. I preflop raise and there's one caller, the flop comes A high, I will c-bet to rep the A and often enough I'll take it down, if I get called or raised I let the hand go pretty quick, forget about the second bullet... If the flop comes all cards 10 or lower, I'll usually check it and play from there, or if I'm certain the player I'm against is fairly weak I'll pot it to rep an over pair, but let it go if I'm played back at.
AJ I often 3x bb bet in EP, I don't want to over commit to the pot, and if I'm re-raised I can lay it down and only lose 3bb.
Just learn to c-bet situationally. If it makes sense to do so, go for it, if it doesn't, check it and minimize your losses.Quote:
