I fold with the odds you are getting. You are up against twopair or a set to often here to make a call profitable.

Yeah, that's the book version, but laying bad beats on shortstacks is a hobby of mine. :roll: (I got called every name in the book on this one.)

I guess the real question I'm asking is how loose do you get against shorties? I tend to gambool a lot more when I know my downside is limited, which is no doubt a leak...but definitely fun :lol:

When your opponent is all in your answer comes down to math really. Put him on a range [we cant since you didnt give any reads], count your outs, see if you are getting the odds to make the call. If you are getting the odds, call. If you arent getting the odds, dont.

Hehe, I kinda have the same "leak" too. I'm in a bad habit thinking that AJ is a monster against a shortstack with 25BB, bleh.
You shouldnt be giving shortstacks as much respect as full buys, but a checkraise allin on the flopin with 50BBs you have to respect. I see shortstacks with 20-30BB do this alot with TPWK and flush and straight draws though - but 50BB deep is somewhat different.

I hear ya. I'm much more likely to felt TPWK against a shortie. Funny thing is, I think I'm more profitable than not doing this.

Lukie, how many outs would you consider us having? If we go w/ the 9 flush cards, we're a dog. In any case, I wouldn't say it's an easy call. It's extremely marginal at best.

It's pretty interesting what happens when you run it through Pokerstove. You have to put in $39 to win $70, so you should be getting better than 1.8:1 to call. If you put him on a tight range, it's a fold, but very close to 0EV:

When you start including more drawing hands, like QJo, or non-nut flush draws, a call becomes +EV.

I think I call here, because I don't give unknown short-stacks much credit and an all-in check-raise could be a draw.

Ah, yeah, I misread the amount to call push as $47 instead of $39. Yeah, this is a call.
