Rippy will rep strength pretty well everytime if he has position and doesn't think the board hit anyone, cards or no. Starsey's and MP1's check flop/check turn lines say it didn't. That's a green light to bet for anybody, last to act, never mind Rippy.

Starsey: I would've led the turn here, to rep a K and find out if anyone's holding. I don't reraise with TT preflop and I don't think you can call that river bet...all you beat is a bluff , and Rippy never does that, right? :roll:

Kx does makes sense for him here though, imo, or that's the story he's telling anyway...

Making heroic calls isn't the way you get the best of a player like Rippy. If he's going to fire a huge second barrel whenever his first barrel gets called, you'll nail him eventually. He probably has a king here anyway.

This is pretty classic Rippy abuse of players who'll go a yard but not a mile with weak hands.

I don't call the turn. Rippy will follow through here until given a reason not to, if you're good it will be a bet you won't want to call and will make loose calls if you show him a funny line and he smells something is up. His style buys him this pot, but he pays way too much for it later.

You certainly need to take worse hands further against him than most other folks, but this is taking it too far.

Also, what's his *calling* standard these days? I suspect he would re-raise or make a more aggro play on an earlier street with trash.

Anyway, I folded. There were just far too many hands that had me beat at the river (probably before then too, looking back), all of which probably fit his range. AX, KT?

As was, Rippy showed Q :heart: 9 :heart: for the flopped nuts.

Quite an interesting session. He bought in for $25 and an hour or two later when I left, he was up to just under $100. Couldn't seem to get him to raise into me when I was holding power-pack hands.
