that's probably my new favorite hand.
Root for Bob or you're going to have to read him pissing and moaning about it in his blog!!! :D
gg wildbob
Out 15th, gl to michael
your and michael's stack sizes fluctuated almost exactly the same, you both went from 150 to 250 back to 150 on the same hands. big hand for him here. edit: lucky him with the split pot, was outkicked. he needs a double up quick.
and he got it, he's a force now, >than average with 14 left.
going to sleep, michael at FT w/ 9 left currently
michael is huge chip leader and still bwning with 7 left
he's still breathing with 4 left
he doubled with KTs against someone's KQ, he's about even with the rest of the table for now
asgard is a tool for not wanting a chop, michael is shoving his ass around, he's gonna find himself -10K at the end of this.
BWNED! asgard pushes his crap pair at michael and is taken down by a full house. making a deal now, michael has 3/5 the total chips with 3 total people.
Michael FTW
Player luckbox360 finished in 1 place and received $28337.51
and i called it exactly right about asgard, a chop would've landed him ~20K but instead he leaves with 8.
what a fish
I would've done better
Congratulations Michael.
It was inspiring to watch. Congrats to michael1123 for the win.
And nice job to all three.
Why? He was easily the second best player of the final four, in my opinion, although I'd be interested to hear what michael1123 thought. Except for his bust-out hand, he played very well from what I saw. The two guys who chopped with michael1123 both sucked, especially UnPrediktble. I wouldn't have made a deal either, if I were TheAsgard.Quote:

he was the second best imo also. the reason why he should've chopped is because there is a 10k difference between 4th and a chop with 4 people. all it takes is a little bit of bad luck, like happened to him when michael flopped the boat, and 10k is out the window. to most people i think the prize scale is so steep in the last 4 people that you really need to chop just because its not worth risking that much money on what could be one unlucky hand or one suckout.
and, it was a great idea to let michael walk away with 28k. thats 3k less than 1st place pays out straight. 1st was 31, 2nd was i think 17, and 3rd was 11. so that's 59k total, michael got 28k, the other two each ~15-6k. so basically, the other two people, rather than fighting it out and risking finishing with 11k, both guaranteed themselves 16k. and michael, rather than risk getting 3rd place and only 11k, sacrificed 3k to get 28k instead, which is clearly worth it also.
I think you have the attitude of a person who doesn't have the bankroll to be playing in these games. I have to admit that I might have the same attitude if I was actually put in that situation, simply because 10K is almost my entire bankroll and I'd not want to deal with the variance.
However, if I had a bigger bankroll of say 50K, and I got to a final table where there are two players left who I think I'm clearly better than them, I'd easily risk the 10K and go for the win. It simply doesn't happen very often that you get the opportunity to play for that kind of money when you have an edge. You might get a bad beat, oh well, if you're good, you're more likely to get your money in ahead and take some of that 10K from the other players. That's the situation you dream about when you register for the tournament.
BTW I don't think it's even debatable that the chop was terrible for the two short stacks. They didn't even get second place money and totally sacrificed their chances for first place money. Michael only had 60% of the chips in play it's not like he was a lock to win the tournament by any means. If one of the short stacks finished in these places with these percentages of the time
20% 1st place = 31K
40% 2nd place = 17K
40% 3rd place = 11K
which I think are reasonable guesses given the stack sizes, then the short stack's overall expectation is 17.5K. In the actual chop they both got about 15.5K. I'd be willing to give up a small amount of equity to reduce variance (especially against a very good opponent like michael) but not even close to that much. These guys each threw 2000 dollars into the trash can by taking that chop.
they made a horrible deal. it was great for michael but like mcat said, they took less than 2nd place money which is a joke
