AQs vs a PFR

villain is 28/9 (VP$IP / PFR ??)

was i wrong by cold calling in the first place?
i feel like i paid him off too much, was there place for a fold somewhere?

MP1 checks, Hero bets, MP1 raises, Hero calls.

MP1 checks, Hero checks.

Final Pot: 10.75 BB

I 3-bet preflop. Post flop looks good to me.

Why raise the flop? I see CO folded, was that the idea?

I'm with kessler and thenon. As in I 3-bet preflop, but am also wondering why you raise that flop given your preflop play.

His preflop aggression number is not outrageous so in EP, using just this number, he is likely raising premium hands. Still, you should three bet him PF.

You're right about that. What I should have said is just that--"I 3 bet this preflop and post-flop dynamics will be different".

btw i normally reraise as well preflop,
but i was just trying this out, i had read in SSH as well that this is almost like the only hand with which cold calling a raise is ok ..

well,
i reraise on the flop because i have 2 overcards, a gutshot and a backdoor flush possibilty so i want to cut down the field or anyone who is holding hands like Q8, Q9 and such... so yes i wanted others to fold.

is this wrong then?

but let's say i had 3 bet preflop, and he bets out on that flop, should any of you suggest folding in that situation? or would then this post flop play be good ?

You don't, and you're not meant to.

Poker is not abut results, but making the correct decisions throughout the hand.

The sooner, and more thoroughly you understand this, the better off you will be.

I think the preflop decision depends on the table you are at. AQs is an awesome hand to play multi-way, so if you think a cold call will encourage more cold calls and the blinds to come in, I think the cold call is a good play. If those left to act outside the blinds are unlikely to cold call, I would raise to force out the blinds.
