you have to know if the guy is capable of folding JJ-QQ and AK etc, and maybe even kings.
The raise is like 38 and he's only got 260 behind him so he's not got the odds for a set hunt on the flop.
He also has to put you on KK-AA.
I think most of this is true, nice hand.
Wait! I've just had other thoughts, that guy posts $6 to sit in, so theres like 12 in the pot, maybe villian wants to steal it with crap. You know this and do what you did.
I know i raise to steal peoples posts!$$$
i take it you never showed, unless it was a play to gain more action from good hands.

nice fold utklo
??
a minraise is not a steal attempt. This almost looks like one of those finishing-your-bet-for-ya raises. I think doing this with 85s requires a read, and you haven't provided one.

ok so the HH is a bit difficult to clear. UTG posted 4+2 in blinds and checked, MP raised 3x, perhaps on a steal and I decided to scoop the pot. No reads on the guys really. had MP not raised 3x I would've made it 4-5x. lots of (rake) free money at the table.

Feals like a weak raise and you use your position to pressure him, repping a big pair. Him pushing is unlikely, if he calls he still hafto figure out what to do with the flop bet.
Mr. 5$ might play, but it dont realy matter if he do.
85s is a good hand for this, as it has some potential and you aint getting trapped. Its "weak enough".
The only read you need is that he aint a donkey.
