Do not raise too much with AK?

it seems to me that the hands that u make the most out of your AK are those Ax hands. Cause if the flop didn't help them, they will probaly fold to ur C-bet. And if the flop hits his kicker u won't lose much cause he will be very passive with the lower pair. And if the A hits u will make a very nice profit by value betting it. so by not raising too much with AK, u will let those Ax to tag along.

On the other hand, if u reraise a small raise or raise over 4x bb. the only hands that going to call you are those that u will be trailing to the flop. and if the flop didn't hit u, u don't know if u want to c-bet it or not. (chances are the board will be lower than those higher pairs, such as JJ TT or 99)

I am not saying not to raise with AK, i also see the point that when there are alot of limpers, u need to raise big. but normally when there are just 1 to 2 limpers, raise 3x BB is the best choice? cause on PP ppl will call that 3xbb with Ax.

Yup, I remember the days when my AK used to get paid off by A7 routinely.

Now when a lot of money goes into the pot, they always have the dreaded set...

what's the odd of them hitting the set?? what if they hit the set with the other card.

he means a flopped set with a pocket pair. And the odds of that is 7:1.

I dunno about other people, but I MUCH rather hit the K than the ACE. :D
