Learning to bet properly

I'm not too happy with how I bet in NL. It seems that I either win a small pot (am I betting too much?) or I lose a big one (did I let them draw too cheaply?). I'm still trying to find that magical FTR way to bet to maximize the wins and minimize the losses. Anwyay, this hand is a perfect example:

Cryptologic
No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $0.15/$0.25
10 players
Converter

Pre-flop: (10 players) Hero is BB with J:club: 8:club:
UTG folds, UTG+1 calls $0.25, UTG+2 calls $0.25, 3 folds, CO (poster) checks, Button folds, SB calls $0.1, Hero (poster) checks.

Flop: 7:heart: 9:club: T:club: ($1.25, 5 players)
SB checks, Hero bet xx

So, I flop the nut hand (that's still vulnerable to some draws) in a small family pot. Interesting hand in that if someone's playing for the Ace high flush, 2 of his outs will leave him in a lot of pain. What kind of EP bet is best here?

In your example hand, you should typically check behind. All you're winning here is a bluff attempt, unfortunately. I wouldn't worry too much about the flush draw, since you have a pretty high one.

I think I do bet here. Not a lot, because I don't want to dissuade action, but I don't want to give someone a free card to beat me.

There are so many cards that you are vulnerable to on the turn that I think you have to bet.

these include ...
AcXc
77
99
TT
JQ
JK
KQ

whilst some of these require a very limited number of cards, giving them away for free is a cardinal sin. Sure I accept that there are plenty of cards that actually improve your hand further

I might bet somewhere between 75c and $1 (60-80% of the pot), probably leaning towards the former to encourage a bit of action and bump the pot.

I would bet $1 here, which is pretty much the only amount I can imagine betting here.

I would bet this one as well. It is not only to prevent draws that can beat you, but also maximize value on this hand. Their are three other people in the hand with you, one of them is likey to have something worth calling with. Now if you were only against one person, you might want to check, but usually I would still bet, this may be your only chance to extract a bet if the turn card makes the board to scary for the other player.

I bet $1 there. Nice round number and builds a pot. Hopefully someone will think you are semibluffing with the flush draw and raise but alot of the time you will just get folds on that board.

I bet 0.75-$1 there. People like to call alot more then they bet at this level. If you wan't money in the pot you have to bet, if they all fold then thats ok too.

best way to win juicy pots is to build juicy pots. I bet .75-1.00.

The only way I check/call here is if I am positive someone will do the betting for me.
