thats weird... I remember none of these lines, but I like the movie. Just to make sure, its the one with the 2 irish guys that go ape shit on some gangsters and shoot em up real good .. right?
oh and my fav movie is pulpfiction, by far.
this movie is overrated, while its certainly a fun movie to watch: irish gangsters go apeshit on some people that fucked them over!!! its definitely isnt deep enough to be a "great" movie.

I've never seen or heard of this movie boondock saints you're talking about.
boondock saints was a horrible, horrible movie. worst acting ever (just the one guy mind, the others were ok). the story was contrived and predictable. the dialog was bad, and the whole thing was just one big movie cliche after another. how was this something that even remotely resembles a great movie????

that's a really american list, though. can't think of any good brit or asian flicks offhand.
not sure if any of those are really "greats." by that i mean they're clever or cool or have good performances, but they're not near the level of godfather or scarface or the old-time gangster movies.
it's kind of too bad. i can understand why the western is more or less dead - but gangster flicks should live forever...

See i thought Resvoir Dogs was way overated... As soon as there werent any new characters introduced after about 10 minutes i said to everyone watching it with me....ok either htey all die in the end or everyone but one person dies... i thought it was predictable..
But the Usual Suspects is definately the best.

so how about belly, and newjack city? Newjack city is a lil campy I feel like, but I still think its a cool ass movie. And belly is like the hip hop remake of scarface. Those are both gangster movies, just more about more current american urban settings. Menace to Society on the other hand is a fucking dope gangbanger movie. "whatchu say about mah momma!?"
Boondock Saints was a great movie. I had never heard of it until 1 year ago, when a friend recommended it. I was blown away. I heard there is a sequel being made, can anyone confirm? Another decent flick with a gangster revenge theme was Four Brothers.
Yeah a sequel has been in the works for like 5 years now. I don't know if they ever actually get it done or not.Quote:

Not a fan. I had heard from a few unreliable (read: young and overly excitable) sources that this was the great cult film of the last X years and I really, really needed to see it. I'd lump "Boondock Saints" in with "Killing Zoe" and "Things to Do in Denver When You're Dead" - copycats and also-rans, basically. Except "Saints" seems even less self-aware and more full of itself, which is not a good quality. At least "Things to Do..." didn't take itself so seriously, as much as it sucked out loud.
