First time playing - Am I Too Tight?
I recentely got interested in poker and started playing with friends and on free sites. I got talked into hitting a casino's poker room by my boss. So I read a book on LLTH, and I hit the 3/6 Limit Holdem, 10 person tables. I started with $80 and proceeded to play for about 3-4 hours.
I played only certain hands that were appropriate for the position, and I had won roughly 8 hands and been in on about 10 showdowns (80% win, came out ahead). I folded a lot, and rarely bet on/after the turn if I didn't go to showdown.
So my question is: Is that too conservative and I should have been in on more showdowns (10 in 4 hrs) for a 3/6 LL game?

It depends, you need to be more specific. I'll give you a set of questions to answer:
1) What hands were you player?
2) What hands were you folding?
3) How many hands (estimate) did you play in your session?
Just answer those 3 quickly and we can get a better idea on how tight you are playing.
Also, do you consider yourself passive or aggressive?

1) Early: AA, AK, AQ, KQs, KK, QQ, JJ
Mid: Face cards and/or Tens (AT, KT, QJ, QT, JT, TT, etc); some connected/suited T and 9s.
Late: Connected/suited 7 on up, Axs, Kxs, Axo.
2) Preflop: I folded pretty much anything that didn't fit into that (based on the book I read Get The Edge At Low Limit Holdem by Burton).
Flop: It depended on the action, but didn't chase straights and flushes (or bottom pair) unless I had the nut flush or top end of the straight. I didn't go on the draw very much, so I folded a lot here.
Turn: Folded if heavy action and I didn't have the nuts.
River: I think I folded 1 time in the 4 hours.
3) If by how many hands I played, you mean how many I saw the flop on. I'd say 5-8 per hour, so 25 give or take in the 4 hours.
I think I'm passive. There were 3 aggressive players at the table that I didn't normally bet into, and I only raised when I felt I had a strong hand.
